2019 Paddle Board Season has begun on Okoboji for those diehards. Always make sure you can handle the water temperature just incase you were to fall in. Tonight after my 45 minute run - ice bath.

Sometimes life is so fragile and so delicate, all we can do is observe. You don’t dare touch, utter a breath, or get too close. This practice can reveal the interlaced intricacies that surround our core.

Perspective can change your entire outlook and emotional state. Most of us have the ability to shape our lives by simply immersing ourselves in nature. One of the many reasons paddle boarding can have such a profound impact on your life. As we long for another SUP summer, don’t forget to enjoy the seasonal wonders.

Listen to those who know best. We raise our paddles to the New York Police Department for making sure everyone remained safe. My sympathy goes out to the 90+ charity paddlers that were not allowed to compete and the elite paddlers pulled from the water. All your hard work and training was not in vain. Hope you all return to celebrate a victory in 2019.

So fortunate and proud to make this list given what Mother Nature had in store for us that morning. Thanks to the vast group of volunteers who make this event possible. The choices that day were not easy but the right one given everybody’s safety. I hope everyone comes back next year, dragging 3 of their friends, to support this incredible cause!!!

NYC SEA Paddle - Love this picture showing a little over half the paddle distance (25/26 miles) from Brooklyn Bridge to Chelsea Piers. The north stretch up the east sides of Harlem, Upper Manhattan, Sugar Hill, Washington Heights, Fort George, and Inwood not pictured. Once reaching the northern point, you pass on the west side of each of these in reverse back into the picture above. Why? Because I have been blessed with the ability to do it in honor of all those who cannot regardless of the reason. Peace and Love! Peace and Love! #seapaddlenyc#seapaddlenyc2018

Enjoying lunch before heading back to the office. Reflecting in gratitude for the appreciation of self actualization paddle boarding, like yoga and running, provides the soul, body and mind. SEA Paddle is about the journey and what I can discover about myself to hopefully better serve others. 26 miles in the awesomeness of NYC. Must remember to breathe and take it all in. 🤙🏻

20+Miles. Okoboji can be extremely unpredictable, unforgiving, and an absolutely amazing treasure, all at the same time - for SUP paddlers that is. Started at 6am with glass conditions. The next hour head winds gusting at 16-17 from the South. Entered East to have the wind reverse direction - great to have wind at your back for the next 1.5 miles but backtracking was brutal. Coming around Arnold’s Park, the wind direction changed again - WSW for an another brutal 3 miles. All and all, a huge accomplishment - I stayed the preplanned coarse and circumnavigated West lake. Total time 5 hours 12 minutes.
