So this morning I got a message through my website that said..⠀
“I’ve spent thousands on coaches, courses, training and more and still don’t have a personal brand strategy”. ⠀
I recently spoke at #copycon19 , a conference for copywriters and one of things I shared was in order to create a bold brand you have to stop looking at just the tactical ‘what to do’ and start to focus on ‘how you show up’.⠀
You can know all the how to’s in the world but if you don’t know why you’re showing up, who you’re showing up for and what you’re really here to do then the ‘what to do’ doesn’t mean a thing.⠀
The first rule of building a Personal Brand - know what your neon sign is. What you want to be known for and know who that matters to.⠀
If I asked you to share in a single sentence what you want to be known for - what would it be?⠀
For me? I help you Build a Confidently Bold Brand - one you’re passionate, clear and connected to.
I have a problem asking for help and support when it comes to anything financial in my personal life. Who else has this block? 🙋♀️ •
I was raised with very little and wow did my mom do so much with so little. But asking for anything that cost money was scary. I was taught that money was difficult to manage and embarrassing to ask for. •
You definitely didn’t admit you needed help, you suffered through, did without and you never complained about not having what you wanted. It just was the way it was. •
This may be one reason I became so fiercely independent. I used to be proud of never needing help but today I realized this; when I don’t ask for help at the beginning of a problem, I end up needing to be rescued. •
While this is something that has only happened a few times in my adult life, it happened recently. (Remember when I promised I’d always be honest about the hard things in founder life 🤷♀️) I found myself with unexpected expenses over 10k and I tried to suffer through it... here’s the thing when you’re trying to run a company and then a big stress factor comes you have to end it as quickly and as efficiently as possible, otherwise everything and everyone will suffer with you. •
Know when you’re in over your head, learn to ask for help early, learn who to ask for help (y’all that one is so important) and get rid of the shame around asking. •
I’m so grateful for the people around me who give me advice on all aspects of life and for the couple of people who will rescue me when I really need it. They keep me pushing through the tough times.
A leader's potential is only as great as those closest to him or her.Surround yourself consistently with people you admire and respect so that you will "mirror" their success.

This long weekend was all about turning off social media, saying no to work and all about self care. I enjoyed hiking, working in the garden🌼, relaxing in the sunshine, a family bbq, wine🥂 and laughter and ending a long lazy Monday with a massage, tea and a good book🍵📖. I feel rejuvinated and ready to crush the week ahead, which just so happens will be one of my busiest yet!. So I’m feeling content and completely guilt free with a weekend spent on me!!! 💙
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and a beautiful start to your week!

We get it—life can be hectic. Between work deadlines, childcare, social commitments, and errands, it can feel impossible to fit in just one more thing. 😰
Luckily, Earthing doesn’t have to be stressful. Eat lunch outside instead of at your desk, run around with the kids after school, or catch up on your grounding while you sleep with one of our conductive sheets. 🌎
Taking some time to connect to the earth will leave you refreshed and ready to tackle whatever life throws at you. 💕
I wrote this post for the members of my THiNKERS community.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then I thought, what the heck, I'll share it for everyone....⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Something a bit softer today... gratitude.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, let's step it up a level.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's not about professing gratitude for everything that's sunny and nice and lovely.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That's the easy stuff.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gratitude in the face of the shit stuff is the gratitude that makes a difference.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To have your inner game honed and capable of being grateful when things go wrong.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That's what matters.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because when you can do that, it means you're experiencing life on a whole new level.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You're capable of a level of emotional intelligence that empowers you to manage your state.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You're seeing things you previously didn't.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Put simply... it means anything is possible.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, what shit thing are you grateful for today? #business#businesswomen#businesschicks#culture#mindset#energised#results#purpose#leadershipdevelopment#leader#leadership#worklifebalance#lifebydesign#entrepreneur#entrepreneurlife#teambuilding#success#successdynamics#thinkers#embracethesuck

China just built a 250-acre solar farm shaped like a giant panda and we're living for it.
Most solar farms align their solar arrays in rows and columns to form a grid but in Datong, China, it's in the shape of a Panda. (called , ""Panda Power Plant"") This 248-acre solar farm will be able to produce 3.2 billion kilowatt-hours of solar energy in 25 years. This will eliminate approximately million tons of coal that would have been used to produce electricity, reducing carbon emissions by 2.74 million tons.
Stop over analyzing every wrinkle, stretch mark, roll, lb, cellulite, & imperfection mama... and live!💜There’s freedom in choosing health & fitness over a “look”! I’m 5’9, 38, and my weight fluctuates between 150-165lbs depending on the day, week, or vacation😜! Lol! I usually wear around a size 8-9, 10, 11... whatever fits hahaha and I typically grab medium or large tops... But who really cares 🤷🏻♀️?! I’m active, I’m strong, I’m healthy, I’m confident (most days), & I can run & keep up with these kids... all of them! Lol! I walked out in my new bathing suit today and the kids immediately noticed and ooo’d & awww’d about how great I looked and how they “loved it”😢. I had literally just been in the bathroom looking at every crease, everything wrong with it, & debated changing... then walked into a room of sincere love🥺 They didn’t see anything I saw... they really just saw beauty in ME💜! Let’s all strive to see ourselves through those adoring little eyes that watch us closely & listen to their kind words and stop being so overly critical of ourselves! Choose health, choose love, choose life, choose freedom mama... it looks good on you 💜 #familyfitness#familylife#momlife#motivationmonday#fitmom#fitspo#family#mom#momof4#worklifebalance#keepgoing#kids#love#beach#vacation#keepyourheadup#mama#mamasboy#mamasgirl

Being a working parent is:
Sometimes needing to make due with whatever you can, like this “lunch box” today or using a random container for a water bottle (to be fair I did this kind of thing regularly before I was a working parent)
Needing to get good at outsourcing and planning ahead, or else the juggling act could all come crashing down.
Being so busy getting everyone sorted, dressed and fed that you’ve left 5 minutes to rip your hair through a hair brush and slap on mascara at the traffic lights.
Being passing ships in the night with your partner, or just trading off being single parents (that’s a whole other story. Hats off to single parents!) Having a brain that goes 100 miles a minute with all you’ve got on your plate.
A lot of FOMO, plus GUILT.
Not finding matching socks, EVER. ———————————————- *SAHMs: Trust me, I KNOW how hard that is. Last year I had the kids full time, which was the catalyst to becoming a full time working mum this year 😆
Are you feeling Stuck in AUTO PILOT Mode? Going round and round again… feeling unsatisfied.. What is Auto Pilot, how to know you are stuck in it and what to do to get Unstuck.. Can you recognise those areas of your life that you are operating on autopilot? Where you have an automatic response to a person, a situation or to your own thoughts?
The best way I know to that I am stuck in autopilot, is when I feel frustrated with that area of my life. Where I feel that I am getting the same result over and over again.
But I may not know straight away that I am responding in the same way AGAIN and again and again.
So the first step is to WATCH, observe and notice.
It’s not about changing the response initially, but just watching. Noticing, being more AWARE. A kind of waking up to ourselves…. To help us to stop the same response happening over and over again when we are aware of it, we can PATTERN INTERRUPT.
Do something to change the dynamic or energy of the situation.. So again, nothing to change here.
Take a deep breath, leave the room, play some music… Anything to break the automatic pattern…
Then see how our life unfolds differently as we practice Watching, Noticing and Pattern Interrupting
It's my answer to all the people who ask "But how do you get it all done". So hear me out.
I DON'T get it all done. Not by myself, atleast.
I prioritize and then I delegate. And I have this amazing husband who is not afraid to go to the grocery store (with a list I created and put in order for him based on the store aisles, I must admit). He also vacuums and does the laundry. He helps with dinners and cleans up the kitchen too.
I'm not saying this to brag (although he is amazing), but I'm saying this because it's how I get shit done.
But it wouldn't have happened without me ASKING him to do it. Or ASKING the kids to do things. Like when Logan helped me make dinner while daddy finished making appointments for the week! #andhereallylikedhelping
Mama, I know we CAN do it all, but we don't HAVE to do it all. So this week, after you create your to-do list, figure out what someone else in your house can do and ask them to do it.
And oh yeah, get over it if they don't do it "good enough" or exactly how you would do it. That's a lesson I had to learn myself.
So now its your turn - what will YOU delegate this week? Who will you enlist help from and what will they do to help you out this week?
How true is this for you? When we first started our businesses, The Bed Head Society, my sister and I were excited about building a brand and society for Female Hustlers who lived by the message “work hard so you can hardly work”,
but we were a little hesitant to push our message because it seemed the “thing” or the ideal “look for success” as female entrepreneurs was to always be dolled up in heels, makeup, and hair fully done grinding day and night or else you’re perceived as “lazy” and that just isn’t true! Nor is it US.
While we definitely love to strut our stuff in a sick ass heel, our love for a cute ass pajamas or leisure wear and slippers topped by a fab messy bun is our go to work from home swag!
But as we began to grow and connect, we learned that there are a ton of women who are grinding, getting their business going and growing, who are killin’ it wearing their fave p.j.’s as well and we are here for it!
Being a creative means being your unique self and that’s what we push for within our business. Whether you choose to rock your biz in sexy heels, fly sneakers or cute and cozy slippers isn’t what makes you successful.
Balancing work and life while feeling confident in your skin, providing value to your audience, growing your bank account and using your voice within your niche is what it’s all about!
So, if you’re new here, and wondering who we are, we’re Jae and Jacquel, sisters, introverted business owners and creative female hustlers who love taking any opportunity to work from our bed (or wherever there’s WiFi) and inspire and teach other badass babes to do the same!
If you can relate to this long ass post, then hit like, share the luv and follow for more lifestyle/business tips + inspo + courses designed for you by us! 🖤💋

Making a promise to these kiddos to play hard on Mondays this summer. Not going to lie, on my day off it’s easy for me to want to crash and pretend the rest of the world doesn’t exist...sometimes they get too much screen time and I say no too much when they ask me to play.
Sharing these words here so you all hold me accountable to being a fun mom...at least one day a week! 😉🤪
Long weekend MOOD! Forever grateful to have the most loving family & beyond thankful for our time spent together this past week ♥️
I’m back in Toronto now & feeling excited as I get ready for my first day at Manulife tomorrow 👩🏽💼
Hope all my Canadian 🇨🇦 friends had a relaxing long weekend, & that everyone else had a lovely Monday 💕
Someone had an awesome day! 🐕
So many people have told us how lucky Hank is to have been adopted by us. Honestly, we are just as lucky to have found him! Hank is starting to settle in. It’s so fun to get to know him and see a different side of him as he gets more comfortable with us. He loves going on car ride with Mom and he absolutely adores his Dad, @tylerc_a ❤️
After we lost our sweet kitty, I said a prayer and asked the universe to guide us towards the perfect pup for us and for our future dogs needs as well. The universe delivered this beautiful soul and I seriously could not be more grateful. I love you so much Hank. ✨
I recently attended The Gathering, a Holistic wellness fair at The Pearl Spa in Fulton, MD. I was one of several vendors at this AWESOME event; we were interviewed and featured on The Pearl’s latest blog. As a bonus, there’s also information about the book ‘Lunch Notes - For Professional Women’ which I also was a contributor.
To read my interview and the other vendors; click on the link in my bio. **
P.S. Keep a look out for details on how you can order Lunch Notes 😁
I just got back from a leadership retreat from South Carolina. What did we DO there? We Trained... HARD. No, we didn’t train on branding, marketing, new products or company trajectory. We trained on GENEROSITY💫, CORE VALUES❤️, LEADING WITH INTEGRITY👊🏻, SELFLESSNESS👍🏻AND GRATITUDE🙏. We dug deep into our fears and broke down all the barriers in order to figure out how we can individually better ourselves.
This retreat was hosted by my friend Jonathan JoDee Watkins, two of the most generous and selfless people. JoDee is a former trauma nurse 👩⚕️, and Jonathan, a former police officer 👮♀️. One of their daughters has special needs so they quickly realized their precious girl deserves a voice, a safe place to work & contributes society in a meaningful way. They dreamt of building a dog kennel, a safe place for her to work.
They had no idea how to finance this dream, so they became entrepreneurs, took on a side business and stepped out of their comfort zone. Their dream grew beyond their expectations and they bought this 100 acre farm and builts “Pet Commander Kennel” where they only hire intellectually disabled adults. They also built a home for battered women and children to live in for free until they can get on their feet. #beyondSelfless !
I write this because it’s sooo much more than skincare (despite being the #1 brand in US and CAN in the past 3 years). This business has built-in personal development AND comes with a paycheck. IT IS a vehicle to live your dreams, fullest and most joyful authentic life💫. The amount of love😍, compassion ❤️and support 👍🏻 I have received and witnessed from friends and “strangers” was beyond anything I ever could have imagined🙏🙏. If anything I’ve said sparked any curiosity about this biz in you, PM 📲me for a chat. Let me give you all the information and you can decide if it’s for you!💝
Current situation contined. So 8 months pregnant we moved to what we thought was our dream opportunity. However two years in we have realised we are not working for ourselves. We are working to pay off our landlords mortgage, we are working to pay our interest on our debt and we are not making any real money for ourselves. In effect we have come to realize we are renting a lifestyle we cant afford and my husband is working 10 to 12 hour days with no weekends off just to make the farm work. It's not the dream lifestyle we had envisioned. The only days off he has had is when I forced him to go away from the farm for a week last year. All other times hes on the phone organising things or thinking about the farm. There's no down time. We dont want to feel like we have failed but after a few hiccups (flooding, snow storms, dead sheep, reduced lambing %) we have decided this isn't the lifestyle for us. Some people love it, but it hasn't worked for us. I also am struggling being so far away from a town that I cant get part time work so am a full time stay at home mum. I shouldn't complain, it's great I have the opportunity but I would like to lessen the financial burden. We had to sell our block last year to reduce debt, instead buying a investment property. But now we are in the process of getting out of this business and probably returning to mining as the lifestyle was actually more suited to us. Itll be a change once again but I think you have to experience these things to move forward. No regrets. This is why financial independence is so important to us, so we can make these choices and not have to continue with jobs that dont bring joy to our lives #financialindependence#fire#anxiety#expectationvsreality#planvsreality#farmingreality#rebuildingthedream#worklifebalance#dreamschange#noregrets#learningaswego#debtfree#debtfreelife
Today at around 3 pm we built a castle. We built it with couches, pillows, a blanket, and chairs. Today was and still is awesome. Today is also Monday. To so many people that might sound like an oxymoron, an awesome Monday. I can't express how much gratitude I have for not being in that position.
Honestly, and this is something I might need to work on, but I don't always know what day it is lol. If you would have told me 2 years ago that deciding to follow my wife and lose 60 lb after watching her lose 60 lb would lead us to where we are today😂😂 ⬅️ that would have been my response. You really just never know.
Wherever you're at in life right now, just know this.. It does not determine where you will be next week, next month, next year... It is merely an indication of your past decisions.
Your future though, that's your blank canvas. So sit down with your paint brush and get to work y'all.
Braised pork with steamed buns 😋 On the road for the next few days with #hearttoheartshanghai to Henan province to visit children who’ve recovered from heart surgery and donate libraries to rural schools. Lots of hard work, but lots of good food #worklifebalance

@herspotsalon invited me to come over for a one hour full body massage and a nails treatment.
This salon is really one of the best I've ever been.. And no it's not because they invited me! It's because the massage was amazing, my nails were perfect and the girls were very sweet. So whenever you are looking for a nice salon to get spoiled, go here! It's based in Uluwatu.
Thank you so much for having me 🙏🏼

Tak, czasami zdarzaja sie momenty, w ktorych bywam powazna... 🧐🤓😅 Ale chyba tylko podczas pracy. 😁
Life of a blogger! Hoe was jullie dag? #genieten#natural#proefhetverschil#pureleaf#eatpurelovecollab#portretfotografie#hangingchair#relax#chill#worklifebalance
