The toddler thinks it's funny to drop his blanket every 2 mins so I run it over with the stroller... And then screams till I give him his blanket back 😑. So that made for a fun 5 miles 😂. Photo cred: my 5 year old.
We talk often of the benefits of strength training 🏋️♀️, especially to runners 🏃🏻. Strength training benefits nearly everyone who takes the time to do it correctly, with a plan. It helps us in sport, in our daily activities, as we age, and just helps us feel better as a human!
Most of us were told in our teenage years that weight lifting was bad for development. We now have 🏔 of evidence that supports weight training as not only a way to increase sport performance, but to DECREASE THE RISK OF INJURY. That took a 180 didn’t it!?
If you have a young distance runner in your house, you work with them frequently in your clinic (probably injured due to lack of strength to resist and adapt to running stress), or you are a coach...take your attention to the American College of Sports Medicine’s recent Special Report titled, “Youth Distance Running: Strategies for Training and Injury Reduction”.
We will be diving into this over the coming months, but my attention went to their review on strength training. #trainsmart#running#sportschiropractic#therunnersfix
Guess how fast Erik will do the Texas Full Ironman (2.4 mile swim; 112 mile bike; 26.2 mile run) on Saturday, April 27, 2019. To give you a big ballpark range; there is a 95% chance Erik will finish between the times of 10 - 13 Hours. Closest person to his time will get “Two FREE Entries into The Envis Race”, which is held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Soldier Hollow, Utah. Course is fun, hard and beautiful. 🏊♂️ 🚲 🏃

-Guess how fast Erik will complete the Full Ironman & -Closest guess wins (if more than one person guesses the exact same time; the winner is the person that guessed first. If 2 people guess a time that is equal distance between the actual time; once again the tie breaker goes to the first guess. For example if Person A guesses 11:31 and Person B guesses 11:29 and the final time was 11:30. Person A wins because they guessed first.)
-Only 1 winner.
My 2nd set of "twins", these guys are 14 months apart, not as exhausting as the twins were, but they are a very very close second 😂. I think it's a competition between all of them to see who can wear me out the most 😬😴 ▫️
▫️ Got in an early morning run on the treadmill, then off to a muscle mix class with all the kids.
Why do I train??
So I look good in a Tri-kit of course!! Duhh
Seriously though, I haven't felt this good in a long time. I've used @optavia to bring down my weight and I just can't wait to get on course at Ironman St George 70.3 and Ironman Boulder 140.6 in June. Thanks for all the love and support and to my sponsors (crickets) and all the companies I'm an ambassador for (Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?). .

I think the new pre-workout I'm taking has like 3 times the caffeine as normal, because I could have gone for a hundred more miles 🏃♀️🏃♀️. This run was so fun! I even got my fastest mile to date- 7:07 🎉.

First stroller run in a looong while that felt really good! 🏃♀️🏃♀️ Put half of my basketball team, aka my boys, into the daycare so I could get this run in.

I know we need this rain but I am more excited than ever for sunny days and dirt trails. #throwback
Slept in, because I was out late with friends and then the baby was up half the night 😴. So I had to run to meet the family at the Easter Egg hunt this morning. I tried to take a detour but it ended up making my run harder 😅, swipe to see my shoes after running through a muddy field. Makes me really appreciate my nice running trail 🏃♀️.
I have to brag a little because my husband has been treating a lot of plantar fasciitis lately and every one of his patients is so so so happy to finally be walking comfortably and wearing whatever shoes they want!
Shockwave is very effective at treating a lot of running-related injuries.
He treated an ultra marathon runner a couple months ago and this guy was able to run the ultra marathon which spanned several days and didn’t have any pain! He was ecstatic!
Shockwave therapy is the last thing you’ll ever try for plantar fasciitis because it heals the fascia completely.

2 mile warm up, 7 mile fast pace, 1 mile cool down. 10 total miles 👊. Came home and realized I was only scheduled to do 6 miles today 😂🤪. This run wasn't as fun as I thought it would be 😬. It was cold (30 degrees), my legs felt like sand bags and never seemed to warm up, and I forgot that running before the sun rise makes me paranoid a murderer is following me 😬🔪. BUT I got it done because no murderer is going to keep me from my goals.... Unless I get murdered 😂😬.
