So last week I ran 80 miles in 7 days as my highest mileage week before the Southampton Marathon. Easily one of the toughest weeks i’ve ever had to go through physically... give the vid a watch to find out what it’s like.
ROAD TO 26.2 | EPISODE 23
Have to admit the HR was quite high on the hills, and simply have no answer for just 5 more minutes at a faster pace, decided to stop. Rest of the week shall be aerobic effort; feeling nowhere near the phase before Marathon. Slowly but surely!
Maybe sometimes I need small sugar free sweetings 🤤😋
Good afternoon to everyone.

Wasted no time in signing up this year for my fourth in a row and I’ve told myself this will be my last one but that’ll probably change this time next year.
Aiming to go sub 60 this year for the first time which will go a long way to deciding whether I do it again next year or not.
Can you tell the year I didn’t train and had a mates bucks night the day before?
2 rest days to try and really recover the legs and hit out a solid 17km tonight.
They weren’t really sore from the half marathon but have probably overstretched them recently and have realized I was probably starting to extend the small muscle tears that happen when running and needed to back off to let them heal properly, but this will take some management over the coming weeks.
I’ve decided to stop messing around with my form and focus on improving strength/mobility and let my form correct itself.
5 and a half weeks to go till my first marathon and I’m decided to set 3:20 as my goal. Maybe ambitious but it gives me a good base to work on for goals next year if I can achieve that.
Training next month will be interesting and probably more challenging than normal but how else do we improve right?
