I originally saw this graphic on @tonyrisling and it illustrates how we build “horsepower” at STROformance. We have trained 14 athletes who have run either an electronic or verified pro day 4.4 or faster. None of these athletes ran faster than a 4.5 when they first started training. What they all have in common is they could back squat 2x their body weight when they ran their fastest 40. Speed development starts with great relative strength which allows the athlete to absorb more energy and transfer more force through the ground. This along with improving the runners efficiency (form), hip and ankle mobility, stride length, and stride frequency can drop .2 to .5 off their 40. @total.muscle.therapy@drycreekpt@nutrishoporem@mallorymcfarlane_dpt#stroformance#teamSTRO
Every exercise we do plays a role in speed development. We use the jump rope to improve dorsiflexion, ankle stiffness, and the “spring” pogo reaction as the foot and ankle impact the ground. You can see the difference in @bradycmay on the right who has done this for 8 weeks and an athlete doing it for the first time. Brady is able to maintain dorsiflexion and ankle stiffness while Hayden has more plantar flexion of the foot, and very little ankle stiffness. Jump rope exercises also increase bone density and strengthen the muscles in the foot, ankle, and calf all while maintaining great posture. @total.muscle.therapy@nutrishoporem@drycreekpt@mallorymcfarlane_dpt#stroformance#speedtraining#jumptraining

Rugby X Lower Body Emphasis Set.
Link in bio to join Rugby Nation Transformation Contest (begins Jan 14th)
Want know what it’s like to have a professional strength and conditioning program? Want to know how pro athletes put on muscle? I can tell you it’s with hard work and intelligent, well thought out programing.
This set is part of month 1 in our Rugby X program. Grouping squats, hip flexor stretch and an explosive double leg plyo movement. Opening your hips up along with squats, owning that range of motion and transferring strength and motion into an athletic movement. Improving body awareness and athleticism!
Join the Rugby Nation transformation program for full workouts and opt into Rugby X monthly membership after that... your body will thank you and you’ll be more athletic than you ever thought possible.
These are tough on my left leg as I’m about to get my 4th and hopefully final surgery on my knee which sounds like it should get me feeling much better.
But I can honestly say it’s training like an athlete consistently that allows me to even do these types of things in the mean time. Can’t wait to hopefully be feeling good again! - @aaronlesue
Again, for purposeful and well planned movements and programming that will get you building more explosive athletic muscle and moving more athletic than you have ever been before join our Bootcamp or build program and the Rugby Nation transformation contest and opt in to the Rugby X membership after that - no better way that to train than like an elite athlete!
Now you don’t have to pay high prices for a strength coach. You can join Rugby X and have access to training like a pro! (X4)

8 weeks ago @bradycmay walked into the facility with a boot on his leg after ankle surgery. With a team of experts @total.muscle.therapy, @mallorymcfarlane_dpt, @nutrishoporem and two a days of training and treatment, Brady jumped 34” on his vertical (top 10 for running backs at NFL combine), did 32 reps of 225 (tied for 6th overall, and first for fullbacks at NFL combine, and ran a 4.7 40. He also dropped 7% bf and 14 pounds of fat after his surgery. He looked like he just stepped off the set of 300 and performed great coming off surgery. Great job today beast. #stroformance#TeamSTRO

I am such a believer in kids playing multiple sports and developing athleticism. I use my son only as an example of this. Kingston, my 8 year old, has done gymnastics, wrestles, plays flag football, soccer, basketball, golfs, rugby and plays baseball. Baseball and wrestling are his two “competitive” sports and the rest are just recreational. My point is we have him “try” a lot of different sports and activities. We have spent a lot of time developing his hips for wrestling over the last 4 months and we believe explosive hips transfer to all sports and are a difference maker. To illustrate this, Kingston just played in his first baseball tournament this past weekend and hasn’t spent a lot of time hitting. The results over 7 games are 7 doubles, 3 triples, 2 over the fence home runs and 5 singles. I have had multiple dads come up and comment on his strength and hitting ability. They are very surprised when I tell them that he doesn’t specialize. I only use this to help parents understand that the research and science support young kids playing multiple sports and developing their motor skills. Develop the athlete and the results will come. @firstname.lastname@example.org@drycreekpt@nutrishoporem#stroformance#teamSTRO
