If you believe you are successful in one or two areas of your life and you are yet holding on to a point of your life from your past, that perhaps, angers or saddens today, chances are those “successful” areas of your life will be short lived and the reason why you are failing in all the other areas of your life.

“Don’t eat that cookie, it’ll make you fat.”
I remember starting Whole30 for the 3rd(?)ish time a couple of weeks before my 26th birthday. If you’re not familiar with Whole30, it’s a diet you follow for 30 days that eliminates all dairy, beans, legumes, grains, sugar and alcohol. It was all the rage then in the CrossFit world and a handful of girls from my gym and I had all committed to doing another round of it in hopes of dropping lbs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When my birthday rolled around, all of my closest friends and family had come together for a huge surprise birthday party and I was blown away and filled with love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After dinner, the most beautiful, delicious looking triple chocolate fudge cake was brought out to me. They had it made from a bakery in the next town over, just for this special occasion. Immediately alarms in my head starting going off “that’s NOT whole 30!” Or “if you eat that, you’ll have failed your 30 days!” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The cake was cut and passed around and I politely refused my piece. I thought, “I’m kicking ass, I denied my favorite cake, that must mean I’m doing something right!” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How sad is that? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking back on that memory, I’m not happy that I stuck with my miserable diet. I’m sad that I passed up on a bite of that heavenly cake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fast forward 7 years, lots of added knowledge surrounding nutrition and sustainability + my own life experiences you will never hear me tell any of my clients to pass on their birthday cake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Diets shouldn’t feel like they’re holding you prisoner. You shouldn’t have to forever swear off the things you love in search of a leaner physique. You shouldn’t have to miss out on birthday celebrations, date nights or summer barbecues. Finally my @thelabbkk#massathon Journey 6 weeks strength training has come to the end last week. I focus on the training 3 times per week. During the training I just lived my life and wasn’t on any diet 😂 (example I still eat buffet and go to cafe regularly with ton of snacks everyday)
Get stronger and leaner (like a bonus If I can do that) was the goal💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Even I didn’t have a proper rest day before the testing but I can tell I have improve my total body strength. I got everything test out on Saturday 4/13 so here are my 5 reps max.
⭐️Squat 60kg —> 70kg (I tried 72 but only be able to do 3 reps)
⭐️Deadlift 80kg —> 89kg
⭐️Bench press 27kg —> 35kg (37kg 1 rep)
⭐️Chin-ups red band for 3 reps (from purple band)
⭐️Gained 1.3kg muscle, 3cm bigger glutes
It’s my 1st time doing anything like this and I’m so proud of myself and can’t believe how far I have come. Special thanks to the coaches and @thelabbkk team for helping me fulfilling my dream and push me to the place where I don’t expect that I can do. Also everyone in this training program has help me grow into a stronger person physically and mentally.
Next Massathon I’m sure that I will be on the program again. I can see my result clearly and if you guys out there wanna try this program. I would say do it and you will come out stronger in every way.
