Fairly jaded today - travelling constantly for 2 weeks takes a toll. Despite that, I kitted up and hit the streets for a lazy dozen.
Kept it steady-paced and just tried to loosen up. I picked up the intensity and speed for the back half which tested me somewhat.
It was warm without being hot and a bit blustery at times. New Jersey is the Garden State and the streets were leafy, shaded and green, which made for pleasant running.
I've accumulated good totals this month and with a few days left, I'm pushing for 200 kms to claw back a little on my goal of 2019 km for the year.
Now, shower time and then back to the grind 🏃🏻♂️👍🏼👊🏼🇺🇸

#flashbackfriday to my first and only marathon, the #nycmarathon2018 ! It might also be my last...
Because the thing I've been thinking about and planning is... I'm considering trying to do triathlons! 🚴🏽♀️🏊🏼♀️🏃🏽♀️ I was going to wait to announce it until I actually sign up for one (there's a super sprint tri I'm eyeing in August), but there's a good chance I won't be able to until next year due to my ZERO experience 🤣 They say you can train in 12 weeks, but I don't believe it. I can barely do 2 continuous laps in the pool, let alone 20.
This was a tough decision because of the steep prices, and it being so "extra" according to my husband, lol, but with my knee still feeling off at times and eventually developing arthritis, I think it's best for me to try low impact sports anyway. So regardless of whether I actually do a tri, I'm going to take up swimming and cycling. I enjoy racing and training too much to give it up!
The only thing that I haven't crossed yet, is biking. I still need to acquire a bike but they're so expensive!
Anyway, I'm going to base train for it, see where I get to in July, and if I feel confident, I'll sign up for that tri in August. It's a 200yd swim, 5.75mi bike, and 1.3mi run. Sounds pretty reasonable, right? We'll see... until then, you'll be seeing a lot more posts with swimming and cycling 😋 Happy Friday everyone!
RSD 1,640: anyone remember when this was a movie theatre? @moetips_fitness does, and we had a blast talking about all of the old Baltimore spots that I were bumping when she was a kid on this morning’s run. It’s finally Friday! This has been literally the longest week ever, and I’m so thankful to finally be on the precipice of a (kind of) 3-day weekend.
#tbt to the #glamrun the weekend before last. These ladies and this community are EVERYTHING. Running never gets easier, but we get better, together. We inspire, encourage, and love each other, and love makes the world 🌍 go ‘round 🎶 ❤️. 📸 : the amazing @1twentyonephotography
30 minutes of easy running on the treadmill. Didn't realize the thunderstorms were over otherwise I could've ran outside and probably for longer! Treadmill is so boring 😫 oh well. Looking forward to swimming tomorrow. Sort of. I'm not looking forward to being sore again, but I also want to see if I can swim continuously for longer. Long weekend is here (for me)! Woohoo!
2.62 mi | 30:20 | 11:36/mi | HR 169, max 186
Last CT run before Vermont! Or as my little one has been saying “Cremont”. Haha. I’ve liked that this taper week didn’t have to be any slower, just less time. I think it’s helped with my nerves. Thanks again for everyone’s tips. I’ve read them all several times and have been making sure I don’t forget any of them. Next stop...CrEmOnT!

It was a hazy (like an IPA🍻), hot🔥& humid🌩 78º as we ran through 2 @nystateparks, Green Lakes and The Erie Canal Trail!
6.99mi at a 10'52"pace.
16.20 mile long run today in perfect running weather! I felt so blessed to run these miles, I added a few miles at the end. Great prayer time and great praise music! The last quarter mile was up hill and I feared my legs would give out, that was kinda tough, hence the exhusted look 😆, but otherwise a good day for a good run! Get out there and enjoy it! Next coaching our track team at thier big race tonight! #running#runningmama#springrunning#mnrunning#runforjesus#marathontraining#halfmarathontraining
Gosh I’ve been negligent with my updates lately!
Just renewed my @run4prs and I can’t believe it’s almost been an entire month in to training with them! ⭐️ I’ve been running 4 days a week that includes speed work and a long run a week and I’ve been cross training/weight training twice a week.
I can’t love it enough.
This was one of my speed workouts this week and, though it was tough, it felt significantly better than the week before...huge confidence boost 🙌🏻 2 mile warm up
4 x 15 second strides
3 tempo miles
Cool down to 7 miles
