Soccer ⚽️ practice tonight...and a 3 mile run! 😊
This evening was Daniel's soccer pratice. It's SO good to NOT be the soccer coach, this time around! 😉
I watched him play for a little while and then decided to go for a run on a little trail that goes around the soccer field area and elementary school. I wasn't feeling it and wanted to quit before 1/2 mile, but need the running practice so pushed on to 3 miles in about 27 minutes. Not a speed record, but pretty good for me. The weather was great and it felt like a good use of my time.
I got back in time to watch the last 15 minutes of soccer practice, too! Definite win! 👍

I definitely didn't feel like working out today but your goals don't give a shit how you feel. It was a short and simple one, but getting yourself in the gym even when you don't feel like it goes a long way in making this a lifestyle.

Get after it! Feel more alive! Be unstoppable! Pursue excellence relentlessly!
Do what scares you, until it doesn’t. I never quite understood that, until I got into Spartan racing 9 months ago. Growing up, I never saw myself as an athlete. I feel like I am making up for lost time! After 10 marathons, so many more half marathons, 10k/5k races, I knew it was time for a change. But almost every obstacle scared me, but with time, coaching and perseverance, I now welcome them. Going for double trifecta this year!! Never feel like it’s too late to try something new, challenge yourself or chase your dreams. @fitness.on.fire I will forever be grateful for all of you and this special place. @on_running I’m obsessed 🥰 📷 @kimberlyydg 😘
#tbt to 1️⃣0️⃣ years ago today!! 😱 when I finished my first (and only) half marathon (@kyderbyfestival) with one of my best friends all while finishing our final year of didactics. 🏃🏼♀️ I reflect back on this event and think of all of the #honesty#hardwork and #discipline that went into training. I ran every day, did lots of “abs”, and cross trained with swimming when I was sidelined with planter fasciitis. 🏊🏻♀️ I went to class (and took some insanely challenging exams), worked a part time job, and still carved out time to train every day. 🏁 I felt so accomplished crossing that finish line given all the input! But I also felt like I was ready for another challenge and didn’t think I would run again. 🤓 I shifted focus to my career and I didn’t carve out the time needed to train. I was lucky to go to the gym once a week, exercise and eating healthy was deprioritized. Fast forward to eating healthy and regular exercise and I again feel like I could do anything if I put my mind to it and carve out the time. It’s all about prioritizing time to fit in all the things! 🍀 GOOD LUCK to everyone taking on the half and marathon this weekend!
🚨OCR Shoe Review🚨
As racing season begins, I've been experimenting with 3 new shoes for these mountainous Spartan Races where tread grip and a secure fit are critical. Check out a recent Obstacle Dominator video in my bio where they discuss many good shoes.
My recently purchased shoes include the VJ XTRM, Salming OT Comp, and Inov8 X-Talon 200.
VJs: pretty solid shoe with a secure fit and great grip. My pinky toe is a bit tight, though. Weighed around 250g, which is ok.
Salming: I've seen @ocr_hosek sport this brand and they seemed similar to Inov8, so I thought I'd try them. They don't cram my pinky toe, but I don't have quite as secure of a fit overall. For example, my Salomon S-Lab Speed 2's have that great fit that is secure which helps on technical downhill running. I'm not quite as comfortable with the Salming. But overall the grip is good and I like the shoe. Weighed about 240g- pretty good.
Inov8: good fit, but still not quite a good of a fit as XTRMs. Grip not as good as I'd like. Weight= 253g!?! I'm size 9.5, so the weight is a huge negative and it seems to be false advertising since they call it the XTalon 200, as in 200 grams. Weaksauce!
#throwbackthursday#bouldershoulders#nfldraft Sitting at home watching the NFL Draft in Nashville, wishing I was there 🏈🏈🏈🏈 I'm a huge @titans fan and have been since they were the Oilers. Congrats to @kyler1murray for being the First pick. My nephew was the backup to him and @bakermayfield at OU 👍👍👍👍I could go on and on but let's get to the #workoutoftheday which happens to be my favorite day. SHOULDERS!!! I started out by hitting 1800 M on the Rower. 😤😤😤😤 I started by setting up an Incline Bench for some DB work. Got my upper back/rear delt/shoulder complex warmed up with some chest supported rear delt flys (video 1).Then it was Incline Lateral Raises, my favorite variation of lateral raises. If you havent tried these it's a must. ✔💯✔💯 3rd video is a behind the back cable lateral raise. I'm leaning and starting behind the back. Starts with the rear delt then works it's way into the medical delt. An exercise I hadnt used in awhile and wow 😳😳😳😳 Lastly is a lying cable upright row. Using a seated cable row station and just lie down. Prevents you from using the whole body to do upright rows, this movement is very strict and hammers the front delts 💥💣💥💣 I used to be very weak, I had under developed shoulders. I HATED working shoulders when I first started working out. I struggled with everything, everything was hard, everything always hurt and was sore 😡🤬😡🤬 I persevered and kept at it and magically my shoulders got stronger and stronger, more developed. Everything else started to improve. Strength wise, physique wise and my shoulders are healthy. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Studies show that women think that shoulders are the most sexiest feature they find on a guy. Ladies what do yall think?? Is it shoulders, arms, abs, butt... 🤔🤔🤔🤔@24hourfitness@1stphorm@mutinygymwear#personaltrainer#mastertrainer#olympictrainer#spartantraining#spartansgx#workout#exercise#muscle#strength#fitness#nutrition#fitfam#lift#flex#health#bodybuilding#1stphorm#iam1stphorm#legionnaire#legionofboom#mutinygymwear#refusetobeaverage#athlete#football#nashville#arms
