I joined the club in 2008. I'd been training on my own and ran the Carlsbad Half in 2007, but wanted to improve my times and get a better structure to my training so I joined the running club. I continue in the running club because I saw the outcomes I was hoping for and made a lot of friends in the process! My current goals are just keeping active and staying healthy.
Looks like I had a good time crushing my 13.1 PR last week! 🤘😝 I bet I’d be even faster if I didn’t literally waste so much energy posing for every camera, but I just can’t help it! I have such a blast running and never want to forget that. It’s therapeutic meditation and exhilarating competition all at the same time. I try to set attainable goals that I won’t kill myself achieving and the results have been pretty amazing. It’s definitely not all about pace for me, but more about smart progress as I look forward to being an enthusiastic runner for life. These pictures will look pretty awesome when I’m crossing the finish line at 80!🤘🏼👴🏼
This month, our girls had another wonderful opportunity volunteering at the San Diego Half Marathon. 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏽♂️ We were able to give back to our community by organizing and handing out drinks, snacks, wipes, and goodie bags to the participating athletes. 🏅 Our next service event is this upcoming weekend at Cesar Chavez’ Day of Service right here on campus! Will we see you there? 🍀☀️ #csusmakdphi#akdphi#sdhalfmarathon
