I never wanted to trade off my looks, first of I didn’t think I was attractive as a child my parents dressed me funny, I used to wet the bed my siblings called me egg head.
I didn’t spend a lot of time in the mirror because I didn’t like the image staring back at me. A strange thing would happen when I would get a haircut, I’d leave feeling a little better about myself.
Once I started working and was able to by my own clothes that was an additional confidence booster; people treated me differently. But, I was skeptical tho was it me or the clothes? I think it was the clothes and that seemed shallow.
I wanted people to respect me for my IP my character integrity creativity those things you can’t buy in the store.
***Dear Black People
We are hilarious petty ratchet cliquish intelligent forgiving group of people. I’m black as if it wasn’t obvious so I can say this certainty.
We come in different sizes shapes shades income levels. We come from different countries but, we share a common story.
We all don’t think alike and I thank God for that because that would be boring. I talk about LBGTQ Muslim Politics Immigration black and white issues as a matter of fact.
I don’t feel the need to be super duper blackety black black and I damn sure ain’t looking down my nose at some young man coming up with his pants hanging below his waist.
Because I remember the stinging words from teachers the nasty looks from retail associates. I remember walking into car dealerships and listening to the line questioning and knowing something was off. I know how it feels to be discriminated against because of the color skin or the clothes you wear. I even bought into the myth that if I dressed differently I’d be treated differently.
I can hang a suit tie a windsor knot and a bow tie; and I’d still have people look at me funny white and black. That’s their problem, I didn’t know it then-but I realize it now. Your confidence bothers people your spirit irritates some people. Don’t try to conform to fit into acceptable group norms that’s the trick if everyone is thinking the same they’ll continue to produce the same old shit.
I’ve watched older generations shit on younger generations for years. I’ve witnessed this throughout my work & personal life in the church and even within my beloved running community.
Which is what lead me to start developing content in the first place, because I witnessed the division, t-shirt wars, running group battles, debates that escalate quickly and get out of hand.
I’m not part of a fraternity, trade organization chamber of commerce and I’m not interested in rubbing shoulders fake smiles or limp handshakes. I’m not looking for someone to put me on because as quickly as they put you on they can try and tear you down.

Empathy is not about efficiency, quickly listening and summarizing in your head what you think is being said and then offering a solution.
I’ve gotten better at listening over time, being time crunched I’d listen long enough think about my response offer a solution then move on.
In my quest to bring you the Absofreakinglutely BEST in running and entertainment aka RUNUTAINMENT. As a service to you I seek out guest that will continue to add value to your personal/professional life.

Servant gets a bad wrap, lately it’s becoming more palatable like avocado 🥑 or kale 🥬 -now it’s all the rage. Every Sunday after church my pops would cut one in half take the seed out and eat it with a spoon.
Now servant leadership is a catchy buzz word but, like one hit wonders you’ll soon be a thing of the past if you haven’t really made the paradigm shift.
Hierarchy’s are so ingrained in us from a young age that’s all we’re consumed with moving on to the next grade getting older moving out of your parents house till you realize adulting sucks sometimes.
We’re obsessed with getting to the next level the. The final level at the end of this game called life is death and the grave.
Experts say if you’re driving during a snow storm and the car starts to skid don’t stare at the tree 🌳 the car 🚘 or 💡light pole in front of you; steer the car in the direction you want to go.
I think we’re out of the clear of a snow storm-fingers crossed 🤞🏾 but, you may be facing a storm in your life don’t focus on what you think may be impending doom; direct your intention and energy toward where you want to travel.
It’s easy to spot the tree believe me. When I’m driving during a snow storm the music is off and I’m clenching the steering wheel I can feel the stress building up. .
In that moment I remind myself to breathe relax. I don’t about you but I’m more creative when I’m relaxed. Because in that relax state I can create a solution course correct if necessary if I start to drift or get distracted. .
Have a phenomenal week relax and speak life into your situation.

It takes a lot to put yourself out there to be vulnerable to share your truth whatever that maybe in a transparent and authentic way.
That may piss some people off because they resent your courage.
It’s so much safer to do what’s expected to be generic to not take any risk.
I’d much rather take risk fail and endure laughter from the crowd than live with the pain of regret of not ever trying.
A common theme I keep reading and hearing is of people being told by someone an adult or an authority figure that they can’t do something. Who are these people?
The only voice that matters is the one in your head. On the road back from JFK reading a few articles and watching some videos I started crying because I could relate to Tiger’s story having lived through my own public shame of a divorce.
Riding alone I said yeah I’m going to make it. Everyone counted him out, yet he prevailed. One guy bet on him today and won over million dollars 💵. Keep putting a positive message in the world keep developing content creating products speaking life into the lives of others. There’s some random stranger out there that believes in you and needs to hear your message.

My stomach is as growling screaming at me to stop and eat. I dropped off a ride near the @thegranolabar in Stamford.
I sit down to capture some thoughts on my recent dislike for sports analogies and metaphors.
And then I pick up ride heading to JFK Dan drops his bag in the car says just a minute runs back kisses his wife pet the dog and gets in the car. I look at him through the rear view mirror and say wise man, we share a hearty laugh.
I’m not just plugging for my 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I’m genuinely curious about people. We talk about our aging parents, the 1st time my pops said he loved, his mom going for a walk today with her walker, his electric Gulf, my desire to do a mini documentary driving across the US. He’s shares with me that his son did-we have more in common than you’d think.
Its quite then he screams out oh shit @tigerwoods won the Masters, he tells me about Tiger’s injuries all that he had to overcome, I think about the public shame arrest the pundits etc.
On the ride back I dig deeper this is truly the greatest comeback of all time and after going through a public shame I can relate #GOAT

Nice guys finish last, I’ve gotta get mine forget about everyone else, I can’t yield and allow a fellow driver to merge on the highway because they’ll be ahead of me.
Networking becomes about what I can get and not what I can give or I’ll only give I’m getting something in return.
Last summer I found a @roadid on the trail with the contact info attached I reached out to the runner and after a few messages between us we finally made arrangements to meet. I had offered to leave it somewhere hidden in the trail so they could retrieve it or put it in the mail-they insisted on meeting. When we finally met to my surprise they gave me a $25 gift card to DD.
Fast forward to yesterday when I returned to CT from dropping my sister in NYC I found iPhone 10 in Stamford The battery was dead. I charged it and the owner called when I was in CosCob and asked if I could meet him back in Stamford; sure no problem. I get back to the mall in Stamford and he’s not there, I wait for a few minutes he calls and ask could I drop it off at a Bar.
At this point I’m getting a little annoyed, he doesn’t give me his name or the bar before he hangs up. He wants to know where I found it, I tell him in the parking lot at the Stamford Mall.
I’m not spending my day trying to return his phone he’ll call back if he really wants his phone. I carry on with my day, I head to the gas station fill up and use the restroom.
On my way out he calls again I get his name he wants to know where I’m at and was I able to drop the phone off.
No I’m talking to you now, listen I’m in the gas station on East Main I’m going to leave it here.
I normally would sit in the corner near the bathroom at my local @dunkin but, on this particular day it was sunny and the seat near the window was open-so I fired up the lap and got to work.
I’d be lying 🤥 to if I said podcasting was always a dream of mine; it first crossed my mind around 06 or 07 while I was a Sr. Center Mgr at Kinko’s. I thought it would’ve been a great internal training tool for the company at the time-they shared a different view.
@apple made it easy to produce a podcast music and content with GarageBand and iMovie so I was going to implement my great idea within the four stores within my network-until I quit.
See what had happened was there was a snow storm, my branch was located in the Forest Hills section of Queens on Queens Blvd-help wasn’t coming to bail us out. So I did what I did growing up I shoveled the snow wearing jeans and a pair of Timbs because I wasn’t doing in a suit and a pair of Johnston & Murphy’s
My new DM was furious because I wasn’t in uniform. In my mind I had just saved the company from potential slip and fall lawsuit; he had a different point of view.
You probably know someone who has their own podcast, if that’s the case you should hip them to the @prxofficial@google podcast cohort program the deadline was extended.
I applied last year and was rejected. A lot has transpired since then and so I’m excited for the opportunity to reapply.
I was heart broken 💔for weeks I didn’t shower 🧼 🚿 shave comb my hair or leave the house. My sister got worried and came out to see me; she found me laying on the studio floor on newspaper like that scene in Mo Better Blues. In that moment I felt like Denzel’s character Bleek.
Being Unbelievably Stressed that You convince yourself you don’t have time to create the very thing that could reduce your stress.
Busy is deceptive it can feel good to have a full calendar a full non stop day where every hour is blocked off. At the end of the day you come home plop down on the couch for a moment take a shower eat fall asleep and then it’s back to the same routine.
In NYC sitting on the sidelines waiting for the door to open at @hesterstreetfair . Music by @stretcharmstrong
Helping @komfortzonesoaps with her business/side hustle, I was an early investor because I believe in the product and its leadership. Executive Assistant by day 16 hat wearing female business owner all other waking hours.
I’m the same person on/off line no catfish; plus it’s just easier than pretending.
In my daily life and on the gram I get excited about people who are passionate about what they do. @kixiejixie is sneaker queen 👑 from Brooklyn who’s distrusting the market and I had a literally behind the wheel conversation with @zacharibinx on the way to the market-Zach is an aspiring artist.
Every day I set my intentions on making a positive impact on those I come in contact with on a daily basis. But it’s not a one way street I end up getting inspired by them.
Every accomplishment along the way doesn’t require a celebration complete with cake 🎂 and ice cream 🍨. Simply expressing gratitude let’s mother nature know you appreciate her conspiring in your favor.
Taking the time to appreciate your team your spouse or partner can go a long way.
We went from having 2,230 followers on 3/21/2019 to 2,260 3/28/2019. 2,328 on 4/12/2019. That’s 98 new followers and I’m grateful for each and everyone. Thanks sooo much for stopping by and joining us on this journey.
So why’s is this important? Great question! We’re on a quest to share stories of ordinary people who are doing EXTRAordinary things within their communities. -

You every walk out the house with a little extra bounce in your step? Feeling fresh like you just got a hair cut you nails or your eyebrows done-I can’t say I’ve every got my eyebrows done though. This is me today.
I pull up to gas station ⛽️ go inside as crossed the threshold this guy gives me the quick once over doesn’t say anything-Growing up in Bklyn I’m familiar with the scan.
He was wearing a suit with the tag 🏷 still attached to his left sleeve.
In that moment I laughed at myself, like if you wasn’t acting funny I wouldn’t told about the tag 🏷. I laughed because we can have whole conversations in our heads about people that couldn’t not even be paying you any attention.
I’ve been called crazy before; I’m ok with they’ve called a lot of original people crazy who came up with some wild idea idk like putting a man on the moon flying a plane or taking a demotion gracefully after being written up for being to emotional then you go on to build an empire. @messinabottle says there was a word for that and I like because I come up with some crazy ideas and @upshow is about to help turn one of them into a reality.
It’s not about building the tallest building in town or business to me it’s about tapping into that thing that is uniquely you that you’re passionate. You know that think that keeps nagging at you and I’m not talking about your spouse or significant other; I’m talking about that idea that you have.
Put it out there in the universe with a pure heart and the God the universe will conspire in your favor to make it happen.
Our thoughts can become things, we have the power of life and death in our tongue through the use of our vocal cords; speak life healthy prosperity over your family loved and those you come in contact with.
Distance yourself from anyone who would seek to drain your spirit or disturb your spirit with negativity; just be careful not to interpret a difference option to mean someone is hating on you.
Bridgeport was once a booming industrial city. . Elias Howe, an inventor of an early sewing machine, established the Howe Machine Company in Bridgeport in 1865.
It was also the home of PT Barnum. When I first came to visit my in CT I got off the train and walked 2.5mi to her house. Downtown Bpt looked like a ghost town.
There’s was nothing more disheartening to hear when you’re working within a corporation and you come up with a brilliant idea and someone says that’s not going to work here or we’ve already tried something similar.
Omg what a kill, so it’s back to the drawing board but not before exploring their objections. It used to bother me at first but, then I started using it as a challenge to generate more ideas and a better pitch.
Bureaucracies can drain the life and joy from your soul. When your an entrepreneur with an idea you may feel like David fighting Goliath. David was smaller and more agile use your size to your advantage.
I’ve started so many random conversations with people around kicks; we share mutual love and passion for running and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
When there’s a mutual respect you can end up talking about pretty much anything; hell who knows we both may walk away enriched from the experience.
Today I just saw a woman rocking a pair of the Clifton OG’s and I received my demo from @upshow I’m looking forward to incorporating that into promoting the podcast while I #uber
It allows me to fully pursue my passion and develop content bringing you the best in running and entertainment aka #runutainment
When our path cross virtual or on the street what’s the first thing that you notice? For me, be it male or female I’ll notice your style and kicks-I’m a sneakerholic what can I tell you.
Beyond that brief interaction I don’t make any weird assumptions about people, I don’t care how much you make or what you do for a living-none of that crosses my mind.
I’m open to dialogue from diverse groups because I’m genuinely curious not cuz it’s the cool hip thing to do.
I respect people with strong points of view we may not agree and that’s cool. But, I think it’s important to have healthy conversations with people who are different; otherwise your just like a preacher preaching to the choir or you just have hype team of yesss women around you.
When I look in the mirror, I know the assumptions that are made about me as black man. I don’t shrink away from them, nor do I use them as a crutch or excuse. And I’m not trying to couture myself to fit into an acceptable image of what’s hot and trendy. I’d rather be like a wingtip or penny loafer or houndstooth pinstripe or a plaid pattern-because they’ve stood the test of time.
I’m a spiritual black dude trying to live out the best human experience I can while I’m on this planet.

I found a brand new track in Bridgeport it’s at the New Harding HS. This is like stumbling upon a pair of @Nike#vaporfly 4% for $50 at @marshalls .
