This weeks running has been a struggle, tired legs and a cold mean I haven’t been pushing as much as I should have done. Feeling better today though and ready for the weekend now, run felt better today as well 🙌
953 miles for the year done so far ✅
🔥🔥🏅👇Conoce 4 maratones que no creerás que existen!! .
(Picture 1) Everest Marathon
(Picture 2) North Pole Marathon

“ Don’t stop when you are tired, stop when you are done”
This quote fits well with today’s fartlek training.
🏃♀️ 21 min fartlek : 2 min hard pace with 1 minute easy float. with 15 min warm up and 15 min cool down either side. Running at a 5.10 pace for 2 min my legs were tired and I wanted to stop especially the last set but I kept on telling myself I wasn’t done yet, I had more in me. The mental battle started after the second lot of 2 min and it was a battle in deed but my only goal was to keep on going and keep on pushing. I’m pretty pleased with how I went and it’s an improvement so I will take it 😃
I’ve been having a bit of a rough time will bugs lately. In my first 3 years of transplant I was hardly sick. Then I went back to school and I think I’ve been well for about one month this year #immunosuppressantproblems .
Every time I get sick it seems to hit my breathing. The result is my fitness suffers. .
Yesterday I felt a bit better and went for a run. My legs were super heavy having not run for a few weeks, but my VO2 increased so that’s a plus ☺️
Today I did a gym workout and felt great. So maybe little Annie was right “the sun will come out tomorrow” 🤣
This time next week I'll be up in the Lake District preparing for CONISTION MARATHON 😁 I have only done one marathon before and have trained alot better for this one 💪 Fingers crossed all goes to plan on this one! Do you have any races coming up soon? ⛰☀️
Two aspects of hamstring rehab that I often see poorly done are inner-range concentric loading and outer-range eccentric loading. Whilst we can be strong through mid-range, these end-range positions are where deficiencies often exist‼️
I‘ll probably write a blog soon about what all this means and why it occurs... but for now, try this if you’re rehabbing a hamstring: Set yourself up as shown in the clip with a VERY light band, and perform 4 sets of 20 repetitions per leg.
This should only be an accessory movement to complement a comprehensive rehab program.
Get around it! 👌🏼 @sydneysports.physio @danielstack.physio
This morning at Run Club we had our own super hero join us. Apparently he is called Captain Flash America and he joined his dad @stingrayrocks85 knock out a few laps before a spill and then the playground came calling.
Being injured sucks. It’s only been three weeks but it’s insane how quickly mental health and motivation can deteriorate again. 🤯
Needed to find something to get the endorphins, dopamine and serotonin going again.
As it turns out, I can still swim....
And I love it! 🏊🏼♀️
I swam competitively until I was about 18 and then sort of left it behind. This week I’ve been back in the pool and it feels freaking amazing. Thankfully fitness from running and strength training has made the laps come a little easier and I’ve managed to clock up 6 1/2 kms over 4 sessions this week.
Can’t wait to hit the pool again on Monday. It sure makes EVERYTHING feel better ✌🏼
When your finish line is replaced with a wall of photographers 😂
The power of training cycles....
A training plan should include various cycles. .
Your plan might start 1 year away from the goal like mine did in this case. .
The 1 year block is a MACROCYCLE which further breaks down into MESOCYCLES of a period of months which again break down into MICROCYCLES that could be 1 month for example.
Within the MICROCYCLE are your individual sessions. .
The benefits of a periodised training plan mean that you can tune your training around a specific event, give your body a variety of training stimuli and essentially break the goal down into smaller manageable chunks .
Had a great experience out in Italy for the Magredi Mountain Trail 100 mile. This shot was 2014 where I won after taking the lead around 40 miles in.

Every Run Has A Reason. What’s Yours? ~ @lululemon
The simplest answer ... I do it because I can (and appreciate it knowing there are people who physically can’t and would give ANYTHING to be able to run again). The REAL answer? I do it because it gives me an opportunity to filter through my thoughts, process them, and (eventually) let things go with each step forward. I run because it sets me free. #running#myyyc#mentalhealth#halfmarathon

Training Day 🤪
Repos run demain 👌.
Une bonne soirée à vous tous 😉 .
Foot is continuing to improve 🙌🏼 There was a slight coolness to the breeze this morning that made 73 degrees not feel too bad!
Do you ever get lazy during your runs? I’ve been catching myself letting my left foot drag occasionally if I don’t stay fully engaged in what I’m doing. It’s like I over extend my leg behind me and the top of my toe drags. Does that make sense?? It’s weird. Then I yell at myself what are you doing? Stay focused! That could be how I hurt my foot!! It’s weird I know 🤷🏻♀️ #instarunners#runlikeagirl#runrunrun

Counting my blessings that I am here for another marathon and that I have the people behind me that I do. .
This place is so special. .
Let’s fly, Grumps 🖤🦅 #rip
Woot, Woot!! Applying running form and technique is paying off! Each run gets faster. I really enjoyed the sweet scent of honeysuckle in the air! #God 'sHandiworkandCreation
