So the second back to back didn't happen yesterday. 😫
I was exhausted and the weather sucked, taking down a tent in the pissing rain is not my idea of fun. ⛺
Hopefully in time 20 mountain miles won't wipe me out quite so much..
So, I'm up early on Bank Holiday Monday to get the miles in before going to watch the cheese rolling 🧀

28 DAYS POST-INJURY: Definitely looking forward to when I can partake in my Sunday Runday rituals again. The last 4+ weeks of non-weight bearing has me going crazy among many other small battles I fight daily. Just 3 days until I can walk again (but with this bulky boot on 😒), which is a big step forward for me, and then a follow up X-ray in a week to see how the bone 🦴 has healed and it’s progression. Sadly, it will be another roughly 3/4 weeks until doctors allow me to start jogging again. Since I’m anxious to get going, I’ve decided to take up biking 🚴♀️ as a side hussle while I ease my way back in running 🏃🏼♀️ to let my injury fully heal and not overdo it, like I tend to. So if any of my biker friends out there have tips, pointers or wanna show me how it’s done, LMK (this is all totally new to me)! Should have a PT plan in place and a new ride hopefully in the next week. Shortly after, a jogging/running schedule!✌🏽 #almostthere

Longest run since my race 3 weeks ago and I’m happy to not be burnt out! That PR has reignited my motivation to train hard, but for now I’ve been taking it easy before jumping back into intense training. Recovery is just as if not more important than those speed workouts!

3 years ago today, I bought this book for $5 at Jewel. This was when I began running collegiate XC and was told we had to log all of our runs. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous and there was no point, but I did it anyway lol. But it didn’t take long for me to become obsessed with logging. I write the distance, time, and pace for every run or race every day and then total up weekly mileage. The fun part about the different workouts I do, such as track work, is that I write the different splits to help visualize my improvement. Every year I like to see how far I’ve come since I started, as well as how many miles I’ve done in a year. Since I began logging on May 26th 2016, I’ve ran 3,665 miles. From May 26th 2018-May 26th 2019, I ran 1,235 miles. This book has come a long way (literally) and I can’t wait to keep watching my improvement! Between the heat (shorts and tee today! What’s going on?!) and the recent struggles I’ve had with both fatigue and motivation for anything beyond speed work, I gave myself “permission” to go slow, as long as I got it done. And you know what? It was alright (other than being divebombed by a redwing blackbird! First time that’s happened to me!) It’s surprising (okay, not really) how much that helps to make runs doable.

Meu treinador @vinimagalhaes da @equipefox que faz meu planejamento de corrida toda semana, tem dado uma atenção toda especial e elaborado meus treinos com carinho. Hoje fiz [só] 20 minutos. E não é que foi exatamente o tempo que eu consegui fazer a Mel esperar!🤷🏼♀️😅 Enquanto corria, ela passeava com o papai, mas não demorou muito tempo para ela sentir minha falta, até porque os finais de semana são só nossos e ficamos muito grudadas!💕
Sem muitas cobranças temos vivido cada dia e dado um passo de cada vez nos treinos.
Recebo constantemente mensagens de pessoas me perguntado como tenho feito para administrar meu tempo com a maternidade e os treinos. Vou fazer um post só falando sobre esse momento que tenho vivido.
Mas seja qual for a sua desculpa ou dificuldade eu digo: faça por você! Respeite seu tempo e o seu corpo, mas nunca se abandone! Cuide de você!
