New shoes. New goals.
Ready to start chasing after some new challenges in these bad boys 👟 I’ve set myself some ambitious running goals for the next few months (years) and I plan on smashing all of them 🥳🏃🏼♀️
If I don’t believe in me, why should anyone else? #IveGotThis#BringItOn#RunningForMe
Buenos días!!!! Con el buen tiempo, Coco y yo hemos decidido retomar el buen hábito de salir a correr por las mañanas. Hoy para empezar 6km 💪.Ánimo con el jueves! #vanessamolona ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wednesday tempo run didn't actually go as well as I wanted. 👎🏼😑 Surely, I'm learning how important sleep is for any workouts that requires a little more effort than usual. 😬 Due to mild insomnia, I had about 5 hrs of sleep last night. Rather than taking an easy day, my scheduled workout was a 6 mile tempo run ( 1 @7:45, 4 @ 7:30, 1 @ 7:15). I wanted to give it a shot before I threw in the towel. After the first mile, I immediately knew I'll be digging deep to finish today. Each mile thereafter...was a real push and a struggle. Of course, my HR strap loosened in the midst of my run so I had to just go without monitoring my HR. In order to keep pushing, I focused on a certain point ahead of me and told myself, "Ok, Queena, just keep running to that point...". As soon as I passed that point, I would pick a new mark. ( It's a good way of distracting myself when I am struggling. 😅) As soon as mile 4 clicked, I just felt nauseous. 🤢 As I was about to call it quits...I ran by a group of people. One of which said..., " She's fast, I should race her!" 😅 This moment gave me a tiny boost of confidence, so I hung on to maintain pace for just a bit longer. 😰 Soon after mile 5, I was DONE. 🙇🏻♀️🤮 Yes, I threw up because I was just too nauseous. Possible sign of exhaustion?? 🤷🏻♀️ I decided to stop at this point because I'm probably doing more harm than good. First time taking an Uber for a one mile ride home. 😑😔 The only good that came out of this run...was the beautiful view and sunset I witnessed as I waited for my Uber ride.
Throwback Thursday! 🙌 #TBT
Only to Sunday tho - Great Manchester Run Half Marathon! 🐝
🎯 - the last 200 metres... 🏃♀️
After a warm up of nearly 13 miles my half marathon journey boiled down to the last 200 metres... Until this point I was spent, in pain, trying to block out my wobble at mile 11 and had no concept of where the finish line was. Then I saw it ... the 200 metre marker! 😁
Now the 200 metre marker for me has magical properties - I have no idea where the energy generates from but as soon as I see it I charge for the finish line with as much sprint as I can muster! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
I summon my legs to move faster, stride bigger and push stronger... sometimes this comes without any further persuasion and sometimes I must force the last surge to the finish line with grimace... with shouting! 😂
But that magic 200 metres... ❤
Feel Good Inc Brings you Run Happy (and the girl's looking focused... oh yes there's some with the girl grimacing and shouting too... unfortunately! 😂) 😉 .
”If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run” - John Bingham

GR221 exploring in the sunshine = total perfection, regardless of my sweaty hair sticking to my neck 😝
I love running in the heat, full of ice cream and tapas with my trusty bumbag and legs ready to go. After a few days heavily weighted to being horizontal it was adventure time.
We’ve just discovered how easy the GR221 is to follow and now it’s on the radar to discover it all🕵️♀️

Since it’s @edinburghmarathonfestival week there could only be one #throwbackthursday ! EMF Half is the only race I have run multiple times, and the only race I think I’ll want to do every year! I’ve now run 9 Half Marathons but these pics are from HM’s 1,2 & 3!. 2014 - my first ever Half and what was meant to be a one off to tick off the bucket list. At the time I worked in a job where I was on my feet 60 hours a week so training was the bare minimum that a new runner could get away with - I was only going to to do it once and never run again right?
2017 - I had watched some friends run in 2016 and had such FOMO that I had to do it again! Again training was fairly sparse (building back up from zero running again) and I got cocky - I thought that because I had already run one HM that obviously I would do this one faster right? I was so disappointed when I crossed the line and saw my time but my goodness it taught me a lesson... 2018 - after 2017 I got determined. After the previous 2 races I had given up running but this time I didn’t. I kept running regularly the entire year - nothing fancy and I followed a training plan I found online as it got closer to the race. I had absolutely zero expectations of a specific time when I went into the race but I knew I’d be quicker than the previous 2. But I was absolutely blown away by a 24 minute PB! This was the race that made me realise how important consistency is and that I was capable of so much more! I also had incredible support from some amazing people that day - you know who you are ❤️ .. I’m not running this year as one of lovely friends is getting married on Saturday so I’ll be in no fit state. I have serious FOMO but I can’t wait to head down and cheer the full marathon - I’ll be somewhere in Port Seton which is around the 14/22 mile mark (unless the hangover is really bad 🙈) - give me a shout if you see me first! #edinburghmarathonfestival#edinburghmarathon#ukrunchat#instarunners#thisgirlcan#runlikeagirl#runnergirl#halfmarathoners#marathoners#runnersofinstagram#womensrunning#imoveme#runtoinspire#runspirerunners#getoutside#runedinburgh#werunedinburgh
Last night felt like the @runthroughuk races of old where I’d turn up, bump into a group of friends (running or otherwise), head for food with them afterwards, laugh my head off and then head home with a spring in my step. .
Bring on the summer and more evenings like this please ❤️
My thanks always to @sebhiggins for the shots 📸
Dammit! I broke my bike! 😥
I've had a loose saddle for a while - my hubster didn't have an alan key big enough but waggled it and said it'll be fine - I'll look at it at the weekend. 🙄
Off I rode for a 10 miler to get my stiff hip mobile again... nearly 8 miles in and saddle housing shattered - luckily my quick reflexes meant I lifted up immediately stopping my ass being impaled on my seat post or crashing my bike! Close call or what! 😂
Well I did a bit of exploring while I was out and found a bit of trail I can incorporate in future run routes - I tend to find new routes using my bike because I hate running in unfamiliar territory... so a productive ride if not a tricky one! 😁
Feel Good Inc Brings you Run Happy (and why couldn't my saddle last another 0.16 miles... I mean 7.84... it's messing with my Fung Shui! 😂) 😉
The path from dreams to success does exist. May you have the vision to find it, the courage to get on to it, and the perseverance to follow it.
Dont Concern yourself with what you tried and failed in, but focus on what is still possible for you to do.
Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.
I am just a girl chasing her dreams and having an amazing adventure doing it. .

Guten Morgen.... ich bin bereit. Für mich kann der Sommer kommen und gerne bis Ende Oktober bleiben. 😀 Und Ihr?
6 mile #temporun . After building a strong base for the past couple of months, I’m ready to start moving to base 2 of my training. Those of you who are #triathletes and #duathletes know about periodization and each of its phases. I love this training system so much that I apply it not only to running but to other parts of my athletic life. BASE 2 is all about laying the groundwork for what is to follow.
The objectives are:
1.- Emphasize aerobic endurance through gradual longer runs
2.- Refining speed skills
3.- Begin building muscular endurance and specific force. .
As a masters athlete I take my recovery very seriously and I adapt my training to my energy levels and life demands. I use 6 weeks per stage as opposed to 4. Each stage includes two micro cycles of 2 hard weeks and 1 recovery week. I plan everything months in advance so that I know when to test my skills in B races.
“Miles can either do one of two things; they can either break you down, or they can make you stronger.” - @joanbenoitsamuelson ❤️💪 I was so close to my breaking point here with just 2kms to go in a half marathon. But I reminded myself how far I had come and what got me here in the first place. 🤔🏃♀️ There’s something about long distance running that really tests your limits; both physically and mentally. But the reward for pushing through the pain and discomfort is priceless. 🏅🏆

I got 3 more easy miles in this morning. Foot is improving so that’s a good sign. But I don’t think I’ll be able to race this weekend. There is a 1 mile race I was hoping to do but it’s prob not smart to push it. I have never run a 1 mile race before and I was looking forward to seeing what I could do. Oh well. Just thankful to be able to get some miles in 🌿☀️ #runningmotivation#runforlife#runninggirl
