Whether you are travelling for racing or for a holiday finding good places to swim can be quite difficult, particularly in places you haven’t been before and when you don’t know the local area well.
Here are some tips on how you can make the most of the swimming situation wherever you are on holiday. ✨ Hotel pools
If your hotel has a pool this is great! If it is a lap pool you can practically train how you do at home. If it is a leisure pool and is short or an unusual shape you can still attempt a bit of a session. It is best to do this in the mornings when the pool is likely to be less busy in most places.
You can do in’s and out’s where you swim a lap and then get out and do 10 press ups or sit ups or burpees, before jumping back in and repeat the same at the other end. You can do this for around 20 mins and you will have yourself a pretty solid session. You will not get a huge amount of swim distance in but it will mean you are still turning your arms over and building some strength. ✨Open water
If you are in an area where there is open water to swim in, this could be an option. It is best to ask locals about whether it is safe to swim in the open water in the area. If it is safe in certain areas (for example in netted off areas) you can practice other skills such as in’s and out’ and dolphin diving. This will mean you still get some good skill practice in when you don’t have a huge swim area to work with. ✨ Local pools
Most local public pools will be on Google maps right around the world. If you have transport to get to these then this could be a great option. Be sure to check the pool open times and check that they allow general public admission without membership. If you are somewhere foreign you could request your hotel reception to call the pool on your behalf.
If you have no access to a pool or a safe place to swim you can still do some swim training!
You can take stretch cords and hook them onto your hotel room door or the hotel gym and do a session with them. It does not take long to feel like you have done some work with stretch cords, so this is time effective too when you have other holiday activities to get on with!

To swim 🏊🏊 well, one must:
Be able to swim relaxed and safely.
Be able to swim properly and effectively by feeling and understanding the purpose of every action.
Be able to swim fast while requiring minimal use of energy of the perfected technique.
To achieve this, it have been created mental and physica instructions for kids to feel and imagine that SWIMMING🏊 IS LIKE FLYING🏂 , recognizing that the movement through water is like flying through the sky. And it have been created imagery and lessons based on this appropriate to a child?s imagination and experience that helps them to relax effortlessly and to stretch into the water as if flying through the air. Through this, he found that the children moved through the learning stages more quickly and with greater confidence than before.
