Food has become a complicated little fucker hasn’t it?! Well no, actually it hasn’t. What’s complicated is that the vegan crowd is arguing with the keto crowd & they’re arguing with the paleo crowd & they’re arguing with the raw cleanse guys....blah blah blah, you get the point.
Fact: healing begins & ends with food but in between you have a whole bunch of factors that you’re not going to find on social media.
Also fact: you need to spend time with someone who can help you figure out where your issues fit in to these factors & then they can direct you to YOUR food.
Finding YOUR FOOD is the key. Your body & all its divine intelligence has the answer 💗

Last nights delish stir fry! I used diced beef, bok choy, tinned lentils (worked really well) and added shredded carrot at the end!
For the sauce I used a splash of soy sauce, black bean and fish sauce, a little chili and pepper. Served with rice 🍚. The lentils gave it more flavour and added to the sauce texture, that way I didn’t need to add much other flavour or sugary sauces!
Pan fried granola? ●|||● Is that a thing? It definitely is now. OK, granola isn't exactly tricky to make but it probably takes about half an hour to make a batch. This pan fried version is five minutes tops and satisfied a definite craving for me this morning with a bowl of skyr.
Method: • Gently warm small, nonstick frying pan. Add oats (I did about 1/2 a cup). Dry fry for two minutes, moving about so that all of the oats get toasted.
• Once the oats have warmed through and start to smell toasted add 2 tsp butter and stir.
• Add a squeeze of honey or maple, continuing to stir to combine.
• Take off heat then add 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a handful of chopped nuts.
• Enjoy 😊

I can’t believe Flo is 3 months and I’m so proud of my hard work 😂 in exclusively breastfeeding her. They call me her milk supplier at home 😭and it’s so funny how she smells me from a distance! I still don’t understand how babies can feed on just milk and they don’t get ‘bored’ isn’t God amazing?! I don’t know when I’m going to stop breastfeeding or pumping but my desire is to keep going till I get TIRED! Moms, when did you stop breastfeeding or pumping? Why did you stop? Happy Monday! Mine started with a boabab, moringa, spirulina, pea protein, green banana, rice and coconut milk smoothie 💚
In my opinion, personal experience and trying things for yourself is very important. Finding an approach to eating that suits you is crucial because as your primary school teacher said: “we’re all different”. Even when I talk about population based guidelines I normally add in they are a great starting point to then adapt around your lifestyle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, I think letting people know what has worked for you is a good idea. It’s gives people ideas they can try out and see if it suits their lifestyle. As long as you are very clear about what you mean when you say it “worked”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, I’m crossing all my fingers and toes 🤞 that one day I won’t have to hear or see another celebrity chef promoting their new diet, justifying it with something like “guys, this new way of eating is not a diet it worked wonders for me, I am living proof it works. You all need to start following it.”
It sounds stupid just reading it, but it happens. Regularly. It’s not just chefs and certainly not all chefs do it. Just a few. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The issue is you can’t determine how safe(short and long term), effective in the long term, suitable and sustainable a way of eating is based on one person losing weight and reporting they feel better. I wish things were that easy, but they’re not.

Ramadan tips for post-op patients on how to prevent acidity.
Prolonged hours of fasting can cause acidity.
Avoid caffeinated drinks,excessive spices and oily food. Also avoid sleeping immediately after meals and avoid smoking as it can trigger acidity /reflux .
Opt for less oily, spicy and acidic foods,stay hydrated and active to prevent acidity /heartburn during fasting hours.
Happy Monday, how is everyone feeling today?
Did you bounce of bed full of energy? Or did your alarm go off, did you hit snooze a million times, wish that it was Sunday, drag yourself out of bed and into the shower and then make your way to the kitchen for a coffee to get you through the morning. Then did you start to pick up around mid-morning and get some work done and then around 3pm did you start to crash again, start searching for an afternoon pick me up to get you through the rest of the day, feel ok until dinner time and then fall back into bed exhausted.
Some of you may have found you got a second wind up around 10pm and stayed up late reading watching TV and playing on your phones only to wake up more often during the night and not fall into a deep relaxing sleep. Some may have jumped into bed at the earliest opportunity they could only to wake up around 4am and not be able to get back to sleep.. I have been practicing yoga for the past 8 years. this lead me to complete my yoga teacher training with Yoga Vimoksha, in Goa India in 2018. I am a RYT (registered yoga teacher) 200 hr graduate, certified with Yoga Alliance.
My Yoga practice and training has given me the skills to safely and effectively practice breath work, mindfulness and whole body awareness.
My other big passion is Nutrition! What we consume is so important to how we feel, and is directly correlated to energy levels, digestion, mood, sleep and performance. I am currently studying nutrition with Mac-Nutrition Uni with a graduation date set for November 2019.
I am all about getting to the root of the problem, instead of using band-aids. That’s one of my favorite parts of being a health and nutrition coach. I take a look at the person as a whole to see what’s going on, as opposed to following a cookie-cutter protocol. We’re all unique and should treat our health as such!
