Sad to not be taking part in @vitalitylondon10k this morning. It’s a race I’ve wanted to do for many years but I can’t justify running it today.
The most important reason why I’m not running it is that I’m currently injured. My knee problem that I’ve battled with for most of this year flared up badly during the Hackney Half last weekend. I went to the physio a few days ago and it’s down to having some weakness in my left glute that is causing knee alignment issues.
I’ve got stretches and exercises to do so hoping that in a few days I’ll be back running again.
While it would have been an amazing race it’s also a road race and I should be solely focussed on trail running right now with Race to the Tower only a few weeks away. It so easy for me to get carried away with all these amazing races but I need to be sensible every once in a while!
Good luck to everyone running it today can’t wait to see you all with those medals and hear about those PBs! 🏅 🏃♂️🏅 🏃♀️ 🏅

My new medal hanger..
EVER MEDAL TELLS A STORY
This medal has a story of a dream of years... I wanted to do this half marathon for years 4 to honest. Self doubt, work, and other things stopped me. In December i got a job i desired for most of my adult life, and it gave me the believe i can, so i signed. .
Training was going well until March, when after the Hamsterley Forest 10k i suddenly started with hip pain and over the weeks spread to my lower back and often to my knees, panic set and i began to worry, this is going to spoil my dream of years, my experience will be dampened. So i trained to as i could and took the mind set of as long as i finish. .
On Wednesday i ran 8mile in a decent pace, so the plan from that was... do not fly off to keep up with the front runners , stick to your pace and you wont burn out. It was hard as people passed me i wanted to keep up but i held on to the plan and goal, 5mile i felt strong i enjoyed it i was pain free, mile 7 i was still strong and enjoying altho nip was getting stiff, mile 9 at the docs 4mile to go, mile 10 i started to dig deep, the 1.45 pacers passed me, i tailed for about a mile but my body couldn’t keep up, i was thinking no sub 1.45 but i can still beat 1.49 my old PB, the crowed grew and i could see that finish line, a message came through on my watch...” woo keep going your on for a PB your amazing” i looked up and sprinted that last 100, the announcer is shouting my name warning the 4men in front as i pass them, the time in the clock 1.44 woop i am a sub 1.45 runner... no no i am a 1.43 half marathon finisher!
Happy Monday everyone 😎 T-6 days till my Marathon in Coniston .. Have you got anything on to look forward to this week?

Endlich wieder laufen!
It was a hot and beautiful run today. I guess Summer is coming. How was everybody's week ? I hope it was a great one. Also, have a great new week, lovely people. .
🎧 Radiolab : Bit Flip. (A very interesting listen about the effects of Cosmic Rays.)

• #happyrunner#laufliebe#loverunning#darumlaufenwir#love2run
The first Bandana Run by @fitphtri last year was my first run/race/sporting event after being sick with a hormone condition for most of 2017. Since that race last year, I’ve been able to regain whatever strength, speed, and skills I’d lost, and I’ve gotten to join runs, several aquathlons, an obstacle course race, an indoor tri, triathlons as part of a relay team, and an individual triathlon event.
So apart from the fact that I joined this year’s once again as a show of support for friends who organized this race and to help fundraise for children with cancer, this race is special because it marked my return to the multisport world last year.
And this happy smile at the finish line of this year’s race shows how thankful I am that the Lord has taken me this far.
