One day, on 2010, I had a friend tell me I should run a marathon. My first thought was, why the heck would I do that? But, 20 minutes later she had me convinced. I had never even run a 5k, but 6 months later I finished my first ever full marathon. 50+ races and 9 years later, I recently discovered that I am, in fact, a runner. Another beautiful evening on Bute and 11 miles in the bag ☀️my quads are on fire and I only had to cycle up one hill 😂 I guess everyone’s got to start somewhere and this is my cycling ground zero, let’s see what improvements I can make over the next few weeks... .
I don't know where you begin, as I am still processing what has happened this week. @dragonsbackrace have always been a special event for me, and it has definitely lived up to that reputation.
My pre-race plan was to take it super easy through the big #mountains , before unleashing my legs on the more ”runnable” terrain further south. That went out of the window when, at end of day two, I developed tendonitis in my right ankle, making #running painful and at times excruciating 😢
There was no way I was going to bail and with strapping and painkillers to try and take the edge off I pushed on. The last two days I decided my ankle could be dammed and I pushed as hard as it would let me, super chuffed to come in just under the ten-hour mark for todays leg across the Black Mountains to the finish.
There is so much more to say once I’ve processed it all. My phone has hundreds of messages from you all. Your love and support was a massive part of what got me around, and I will always be eternally grateful.
Many have asker me what does running over two hundred miles across some of the toughest and roughest #mountain terrain the UK has to offer do to your body? Well, I now have enormous feet and a right ankle like an small melon. I also have a Cheshire Cat grin across my face 😁
Here is just two of the fantastic views we experienced this week, both taking during our traverse of #snowdonia on Monday. As you can imagine, there are loads more to follow, but first I need some sleep!
This week I have gone by cycle to work. Four out of five days. All good things are three or... - It is give me exercise and wellbeing.
- No impact on the environment.
- I save money, since no use of petrol.
- For each time I cycle, I will give 5 Euro to charity.
In honor of the upcoming Global Run day, lululemon Birmingham brought together a great group of representatives from our local run community. Coach Alex was in attendance representing Resolute Running (legacy lululemon ambassador) and we are excited about the upcoming run this shoot is getting the word out about!
lululemon is organizing a fun run and all are welcome. Join us on June 5th. It starts and ends at O'Henry's Coffee at Brookwood Mall. 5-mile, 3-mile, and 1-mile running groups will start at 6 am, followed by breakfast and coffee on lululemon!
All fitness and experience levels are welcome! No matter your pace or how long you’ve been running, we want to see out there!

🇫🇷 "Ooooh mon Dieu j'ai pris du poids 😱"Ça c'est la réaction de la Cam 1.0. Celle qui, il y a quelques années, prenait le chiffre de la balance au premier degré et n'allait pas plus loin 🙄
Sauf que, j'ai appris avec le temps à prendre un peu de recul et à continuer à regarder certains chiffres...mais les bons ! C'est plus facile quand tu as ta petite balance @Withings plutôt que celle de ta grand-mère, c'est sûr 😉
▪︎▪︎Alors oui j'ai pris du poids, alors que je voulais en perdre, mais j'ai surtout pris de la masse musculaire...👊 et mon petit orteil me dit que cela a sûrement un lien avec tout le D+ que mes cuissots se bouffent depuis quelques semaines 😅
▪︎▪︎ Je le disais, @Withings m'accompagne donc dans le suivi de mon bien-être et c'est aujourd'hui un exemple parfait, savoir regarder les bons indicateurs et ne pas faire de sa balance un ennemi, mais plutôt un allié de poids ( ohohoh). Je suis conquise par cette balance, qui me réconcilie un peu après avoir passé des années à maudire ses ancêtres !
