11 week old Ace rockin a loose leash and checking in with his mum. The first of many steps before even attempting a longer walk with so many competing motivators for his attention. Rep after rep after rep is going to be done and then, we’re going to add in some stuff.
So far, we’ve added the tunnel, the ladder, some cavaletties, my GSDs barking and another human. Last time we worked on exiting the door a little calmer because, although he’s thinks he’s ready for the whole wide world, we know better that it can be unpredictably scary and cruel. So calm and checked in is the way to go little man. And as a brain break, we let him find his spot in the tunnel and hone his tug drive. Happy for this little fella, that his owners are committed. • #gsd#gsdpuppy#germanshepherd#germanshepherdpuppy#ottawadogtraining#ottawadogtrainer#gsdofottawa#stateofmind#teachemyoung
It’s not Thursday but I took this two years ago and just had to post it. Haru was so small! I have a hard time believing he grew up so quickly by my side. While some things change though like his size and color, other things stay the same. His charcoal colored nose, his incredibly expressive eyes, and his laser focus on me. This was taken during our first week together and we were tackling crate training 😂 After a few sad screams in his crate he would settle in and sleep. Luckily he picked crate training (and basically all training) up super quickly. I have so many big feelings about Haru growing up, but I’m so so thankful he’s by my side. 💕
