#Repost@kevinbenky ・・・ @the36one is a month away today, or at least the finish is (I hope) but sadly this year it won’t be spent chasing this fine #foreverbuttphotos subject. Sads.
Instead I will have a lot of me-time as I take on the challenge somewhat differently to how it’s normally done by starting a little earlier in the day and trying to complete 2 laps within the 36hr time limit mostly self-supported. It’s a challenge I’ve wanted to take on for a long time now and so am very grateful to both @drylandza and @the36one for allowing me the opportunity to give it a go and push some boundaries.
I’ll share more on the how and why in the weeks to come but for now I just wanted to say how excited I am to try. It’ll be the furthest I’ve ever tried to ride in that time frame and with 11,000m of climbing it’s a pretty tough route to do it on too, but that’s the point really. I really hope I’ve got it in me and I’ll exercise lots to be ready to give it a good dig that’s for sure.
Entries are still open for all categories too, so for those still thinking if they should enter there’s time left to ‘get off the couch’ and take on what is undoubtedly the best route in ultra racing that this country has. Do it solo, as a pair, in a relay or make it a date night - however you do it I promise you it’s worth the effort.
See you there, I hope. #TheUltimateRace#the36one#benkyrides#endurance#karoo
