Three hours in to my post night shift nap and the pup woke me to go walking. He then covered me in mud so literally had to put everything in to the washing machine before heading out to the school run.
2014 London Marathon Finishers Medal.
2017 Berlin Marathon Finishers Medal.
My goal is to run the 6 World Marathon Majors, I currently have 2 under my belt and the ballot for the NYC marathon opens today - $358 just for the place, WOW! The London Marathon was £37 in 2014....$358 feels obscenely expensive in comparison to UK events 🙄 BUT my name will be in the hat for the first time ever this year, I really hope I get in because despite the price tag people have told me that the last bit through Central Park when your body feels like it is dying is an experience and I am all about the experience!
If I get in, get there and finish I will be half way to my goal!
When you misread the first two lines for Congratulations on your selection instead of commiserations on your unsuccessful entry. The two second panic and swear word that leaves your mouth then you re-read it and sigh in relief. Not sure I could run a back to back half marathon! #notmeanttobe#londonmarathon#26miles#ballotentry#unsuccessful

Well I guess I better up my training so.... 2019 London marathon come at me!! #londonmarathon#ohdear#dementiaandalzheimerscharity#ballotentry#whathaveidone
Happy Post Day!
This magazine was sitting on the doormat when I got home last night and I can’t quite believe it! Both Steve and I were inspired watching this year’s @londonmarathon so we decided to enter the ballot to try and get a place, not thinking either of us would get in first time and we were both very lucky to get in first time!
I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant with a planned cesarian section booked for two weeks time and I’m unsure whether I will have to defer my place until next year but I am hopeful to be able to complete it next year. @londonmarathon#you ’rein #londonmarathon2019#ballotentry

The wait for the Postman and the wait for an email has been excruciating.
So much so that I couldn't wait for either 🤨
Through various posts on Twitter yesterday I found out that your "Yes" or "No" can be found on your Real Buzz account.
So i logged on with everything crossed, but, as I expected it is a no for me.
The reality is that most people will be disappointed as so many people apply for the ballot.
Charity places are an option but the added pressure of raising a substantial amount of money is not for me.
There is also the option of a good for age place but even these places are limited. 3000 for men and 3000 for women.
For me this means running another marathon in under 3h15m
My marathon PB, at 4h24m is so far away that it's not even an option. . .
While it is disappointing, it does clear my head of the worry of fitting in marathon training while continuing to run my streak.
I can now look forward to The Great South Run in a couple of weeks and continuing to running everyday to increase my streak.
I've just got in from today's run, #runeveryday Day 744 🏃🏃🏃.
As my legs are still recovering from Sunday's Half Marathon it was just a gentle mile around the block 👍😀

The day of disappointment looms large on the horizon.
This time last year I received my commiserations magazine from @londonmarathon
Magazines and email will be landing very soon to let the lucky few know that they have a place for 2019.
With over 400, 000 people applying for around 17,000 ballot places the odds are not very good but if you don't enter the ballot then you can't complain you didn't get a place.
My main concern, if I do get a place is keeping my streak going.
I'm not ready to give up my streak, especially after recently passing 2 years but I know how tough marathon training is.
Let's see what happens in the next few days. .
