Chris along with his partner and fellow SFG Joanne Bending own Hybrid Strength in Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
Hybrid Strength offer a variety of classes to improve strength, conditioning and movement, as well as personal training, workshops and regularly host the Tactical Strength Challenge.
Chris has been working in the fitness industry for over 10 years and a Strong First Instructor since 2016. During that time he has successfully coached numerous people to prepare for SFG Certifications, as well as training many people to compete in the TSC including the Women's Open Winner in 2018. Alongside running Hybrid Strength, Chris also works for a GP Referral Scheme specialising in COPD and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

A differently alternative to the 'on the knee' box push up.
This variation allows you to work on progressing your push ups by elevating the height of the bench or box.

In the last 6 or 7 years of my life I have had so many of these moments. So many moments when I said “I give up I’m tired of hurting” so many times when I said “I’m not strong enough to do this anymore” and yet here I am about to turn 25 in twenty-six days and for one of the first times in my life I’m looking at myself saying “wow dude, you’re one resilient strong mother fucker” and for the first time I’m looking at myself and saying “you’re learning who you are and who you are is actually pretty great”. Everyone has their own path to follow, everyone has their own mountain to climb, and their own hurtles to overcome, but pumpkin take it from me; life can be a roller coaster but it’s one hell of a ride. Remember what you’ve asked for! Because as soon as you release that energy things in your life will start to shift so this needed change can happen. Don’t be surprised when your world starts to shake up in the process. Keep strong as your transition may come easily or not so easy. Think about it...the best clarity & growth comes from harder experiences. If everything was easy then we would never see the valuable lessons. I believe if you TRULY want something to be a certain way the universe will start molding you through particular lessons so that you’re fully prepared for whatever you desire. Because if you REALLY want it...it will happen. (Even if it’s for a season...it will be for a reason)
Pay FULL attention to the process cause some lessons and fulfillments may be sitting right under your nose. Don’t get wrap up in the unnecessary daily holds/distractions that keep you from the molding process. Don’t be afraid of the process because if it’s happening it’s because God/Universe has already blessed you with it. If it’s not happening like you want it to be it’s because it’s supposed to be a different way. If you feel the pressure...DON’T PULL!
Don’t run the opposite way from the road your traveling down because that’ll only cause you to suffer more....making your journey harder. Always remember you have to do the work to receive all that you desire! Our body is always working to adapt in a means to achieve a state called homeostasis (a stage in which your body is accommodated to, a state of equilibrium/comfortability that your body enjoys staying at). 🧘🏻♂️
However, without stimuli, your body will cease to grow and even with stimuli, your body will adapt. In terms of training, it is important to have a progression scheme in order to continuously produce results.
It is also important to note that you won’t always be able to progressively overload. How much you overload by is also important as to not overly tax your body, just because you can doesn’t mean you should. 🙅🏻♂️
