Another day of taking my caboose role quite seriously. Some days I enjoy leading and other days I am quite happy to just be in the back and work my way up from there...or as I did for most of today, just stay there and get taken along for the ride.

Morning moves. They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Mine is more like 6.2 miles, but still.
Did I tell you I’m training for the Peachtree? I am. And you have to start somewhere. The last couple years, I’ve been plagued with injuries. So much so that I considered becoming a personal trainer to get them under control and learn more about what was going on with my body. Still thinking about it TBH. I digress.
This morning it was a 20-minute walk (can’t run anymore on these old dancer joints) to check my pace and set a baseline. I’m right at 20-minute miles, and I need to be at about 15 minutes per mile in 11 weeks. 20 minutes felt like a long time until about 15 minutes in. Then I started to feel a little rushed. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
I also skipped the music and earphones to listen to the birds, enjoy the sunshine, and breathe. Now, the lawn mowers and pollen made that slightly less enjoyable, but it was still a wonderful AM respite.
