The Finish Line 💛💙
Time flies when you are focused and working towards a specific goal. It’s crazy to think that this happened only 10 days ago. Even more wild to think that I had been working hard and dreaming of that moment for over five years. It seems as if it has come and gone so quick.
The lesson to me here is to stay present and to be grateful for the experience along the way. To recognize that each day is a piece of the process and a positive step in the right direction. Enjoy what you are doing, what you have done, and what you are capable of when putting your mind towards something you want to achieve 🏅
Race recap coming soon 🦄

Feeling like a damn queen [latifah] 👑 after that @barrysbootcamp abs and ass workout this morning. 🍑 It can definitely be a little intimidating to go to a class by yourself, but Barry’s always welcomes me with open arms 🤗 and I’m sooo glad I showed 👏🏻 up 👏🏻 today.
I grabbed the 35# dumbbells in class. Yes, you read that right. Thirty. Five. @hollykeskey_koester said go heavy so you damn well better believe that’s what I did. 🏋🏼♀️ And dammnnnn y’all, I felt so #strong and #unstoppable . 💪🏻 Then was able to top it off with an 11.0 sprint. 🔥 Seriously no better way to kick off this Friday eve before a half marathon on Sunday! 🏃🏼♀️
Wishing you a lovely rest of your day! ☀️
#tbt has got to be #LondonMarathon !
After last year I remember telling everyone it was ‘the best day ever!’ and I wondered at the time if I was being dramatic or just caught up in post-marathon high. But one year on I can confirm... it really was the best day ever!!
Everyone who is running on Sunday; soak up every moment, enjoy the sights, and smile and cheer even if your legs fail you. This is your victory lap 🥇🇬🇧🏆
People keep asking me how I’m feeling post-marathon. And the answer is, amazing. I finished with no blisters, pain or injury, which is a far cry from how I completed my first marathon (@runvermont) Burlington, Vermont 7 years ago.
Battling through hip discomfort and weekly physical therapy appointments, I vividly remember my PT telling me I shouldn’t run the marathon.
Flash forward to 2019. I trained smarter. I not only believed, but applied the “less is more” approach. I took care of my body. I complimented my runs with yoga and strength training. I stretched, hydrated and focused on pre and post run fuel.
10 days ago I crossed the finish line in Boston, shaving 25 minutes off my marathon time.
The hubby and I are trying to eat better. We threw out a lot of junk that was in our house. We just don't like how we look or feel. So today I went to Thrive Cafe to try something different. Ordered a salad bowl with chicken and a beet drink. I love the beet drink but it might take a while to like the salad. It had: zucchini, carrots, red cabbage, peppers, kale, cashews, quinoa and chicken. Some new food for me in there. Baby steps.
This week is my Vegas week, both for work, fun, and running a full Marathon! I haven’t been doing too much running this week as it is my taper week and i am cutting my mileage down by 80%. I ran 5K this morning on the beautiful-and-fun-to-run #lasvegasstrip , starting my run at 6:30am. There were quite a bit of runners out here! I bet running the Las Vegas strip is a dream run for many people :) Race day is 2 days away and today is my biggest #carboloading day. 😆😋😋. I wish everyday can be like today when i don’t have to worry about how much i am eating!
Stay tuned and check out my instastory for the marathon coverage. It is going to get as high as 96F on race day! 🥵 i hope i’ll survive!
I joined the club in 2008. I'd been training on my own and ran the Carlsbad Half in 2007, but wanted to improve my times and get a better structure to my training so I joined the running club. I continue in the running club because I saw the outcomes I was hoping for and made a lot of friends in the process! My current goals are just keeping active and staying healthy.

Two months ago I was flying from New Orleans to Los Angeles when the American Way magazine had London on it’s cover.
I’d been working hard behind the scenes to make a trip to London happen to support a client who would be heading there to run the London Marathon and took that cover as a sign to answer London’s call no matter what 😅
I’m so glad I did 🤗
Currently en route to London and I couldn’t be more excited.
Well... I could stand to be reseated next to someone who isn’t trying to take up half of my seat 🤦♀️ I may be small as a Fit Armadillo, but I get a little claustrophobic when my personal space is invaded 🤪
Did London call YOU to head to the city for the marathon? I’d love to cheer you on or have you join the pop up fun run I’m hosting if you need a shakeout run idea around the Old Street area and appreciate the motivation of some sparkly bling 😉
P.S. P.S. This month’s American Way cover is about Los Angeles, the city Fit Armadillo headquarters is closest to...whether you’re considering flying out or not you can make good on this travel tip and head to LA by working out with me virtually to kick off the month of May. We have an online fitness class happening May 1st: FitArmadillo.com/Classes

Sometimes running is the only thing that makes sense.
💜Thank you so much for all of the kind words yesterday about my father in laws passing. It means so much to me. ..
💜A Thursday rainy run today that seemed perfect with my husband. I captured this picture of some violets growing in the woods on our local trail. ..
💜It was a reminder of how beautiful life can be, and that even the simplest things can bring happiness in a time of sorrow. ..
Cheers to good health and to almost being the weekend!

🇬🇧 LONDON CALLING...and ready or not, here I come! Been riding a wave of nerves all week (thats called “maranoia,” apparently 😂), and I am *so* psyched to just get my feet on the ground in the UK. #londonmarathon
Perfect easy 6 this morning! Averaged 8:43 pace after a 15 miler yesterday at race pace!💥💥💨💨 I cannot believe the marathon is 4 weeks away!! I'm perfectly tly happy where I am at right now. I have been so consistent this training cycle and I am so proud of where I've come from to get here. Hopefully this happy train will continue to ride right through!! #fitness#getoutside#runnersofinstagram#26point2

Yay!! Off to London🇬🇧!! So excited! I remember how I signed up for London Marathon through the charity more than 300 days ago and I am on the plane already. Time flew super fast. All training and preparation are done. 3 more days to the day X!
Runcation...

Hot sweaty mess 💦
Another interval run done and the foot is feeling good 🙌
I get to bump up to 3 minutes on/30 seconds off next week 😍
Today is my Friday and a long weekend is totally needed after an exciting, stressful, and fulfilling week at work. Thankful to have my #1 coping mechanism back in my life to help me find balance in all of the chaos.

And just like that the training was over. I'll never run to March of the mods, Dolly Parton and Jim Reeves again!
The past 6 months have been crazy and I remember every time I used to run and listen to the radio Mumford and sons, guiding light would come on it would really make me think of Grandad and as I was completing my run today it came on and hit me right in the feels!
The past 6 months have been testing, I've ran through every weather possible, I've ran through pain and happiness. Some runs i've absolutely loved and some I've hated and wanted to give up there and then. Some days I've come home and collapsed some days I've come home and just got on with the day. All this is nothing compared to what people are going through with a lung disease, struggling and fighting with every breath they take and this is why I'm doing it, so no one has to suffer like my Grandad did.
I know I'm only one little person but I feel proud of what I've done so far and how much i've raised, I havent been able to do a big charity event so it's all come from friends and family supporting me which means so much to me.
Hopefully I'll make you all proud on Sunday. LONDON, IM READY FOR YOU. BRING ON THE 26.2!
💙Boston Marathon: 2:42:30💛
There’s nothing like Boston. The crowds, the love and support, the challenging course, all the feels as you venture from Hopkinton to Boston. I’ve done it 8 times now and it never gets old.
I got the chance to run in the elite field for the first time today, and boy, did I soak it all in. I had fun from start to finish. I was worried about running solo, and I barely did! I ran with friends, met new ones, and had so much fun slapping high fives at 18 (@novemberproject) and 20 (@heartbreakersrun). It may not have been the 2:39 I hoped for, but my heart is full, my legs are tired, and I left it all out there. Super happy and grateful right now. ♥️

Boston marathoner finished for the second time!💙💛I didn’t have the race I wanted time wise, but fought for that finish! I couldn’t get my breathing right and kept feeling like I was going to pass out.🙈Then panicked because of it, which made it even worse! I called @achandmd sometime before the half and told him I was really struggling. I really wanted to quit this race, but kept moving forward! It involved some walking, but I would have crawled if it came to that. After the race, @achandmd asked me what motivated me to keep going and I told him”I bought all this stuff at the expo and if I don’t finish, I can’t wear it!😂” It was sooo hard to pull out of that negative self talk when you feel like crap and still have so many miles to go, I made it through and for that I am thankful!🦄There is nothing like Boston!
Another day, another workout closer to 💛Boston!💙Trust me, I’m more excited than I look in this picture!😂Workout was 1.5 miles up, then 1k at MP/1k moderate recovery x6, cool down. Took them a little fast🤷🏻♀️but, that’s ok! #tracktuesday#runlikeagirl#marathontraining#goals

Starting over again!🏃🏻♀️Or easing back in I should say. 5 miles feels like a lot right now! I love getting back into an active routine though! #runlikeagirl#runbaltimore#goals
You know I’m having a bad race when I give the camera a dirty look instead of smiling with my hands up.🙈My training went great and I felt really confident going into this race. I felt like kind of a fraud after the race because I told everyone I was going to run 3:05 and came up painfully short of that goal.😔I could tell early on that something was off and it just wasn’t my day. I will learn from this and I will move on!🏃🏻♀️As @des_linden says “keep showing up!”
Thank you all so much for all your kind words and encouragement!❤️It meant so much! #bostonmarathon2019#runboston#26point2

Just some easy miles tonight.🏃🏻♀️I’m trying harness the taper crazies!😝I must have checked the weather for next Monday about 50 times today.🤦🏻♀️I need to get a grip!😂I keep having flashbacks from last year, when it just kept getting worse and worse and I totally underestimated how bad it was going to be.🙈I can’t control it, so need to stop stressing! #marathontraining#tapercrazies#bostonmarathon2019
